Cannot believe all the 8000 cars sold?! Wonder how come the two companies wait until now then go in buy the cars? Wonder how come Go-Jek did not buy any of these cars? Lol.

Based on my estimation,  Cat A - $26/27K, Cat B - $31/32.

The company was sold, together with the remaining fleet of vehicles. How come wait until now then go in to acquire? Few possible reasons.

1) LCR was too big for acquition at first. They need to downsize the operation and inventory to a level that is attractive.

2) Maybe the biz buyers see opportunities in rental biz since new player like Go-Jek is coming

My guess is LCR sells them at very Low prices and these dealers may probably export them if they cannot sell in the local market.

they must have negotiated a damn good deal . Next is they must have gotten secured consumption to know that they are able to digest most if not all the 8000 cars. And they are likely the one to rent cars for potential go-jek drivers. 

Go-jek is a startup which do not like huge capital assets liability, they will  not spend so much money to buy cars especially car is so expensive in SGP.   

 

Back on COE, the number of COE re-validation over the last few months are quite high, this will affect the COE allocation for next 3 months.

350M/8000 car = $45k for 8 years old car.

That is as good as paper value.  Low downside risks.

80%Fleet  rented out average  = $60 daily  X 6400 = $380k Daily.

One month is 11.5 million = 30 months to break even and still own all cars even if at paper. Damm good deal if got the muscle to eat.

The companies who acquire all the 8000 cars, think they should able to get some good deal from overseas as well, so that they could export some of these cars there, if not how to digest all the 8000 cars to be use and sell in local market? If local market really so good, then LCR should be able to sell off most of these cars liao, but sadly no one interested. Lol.

Hopefully if most of these cars got exported, coe quota will increased more for the coming months?!

True, even got the capital to digest all the 8000 cars, but these cars cannot buy and just park without business. I guess majority of these cars should be exported, since the car is still so new, quite good market if there is a demand in overseas.

Nwadays dun kw wat news is true and wat not. Mayb ownself set up company by another affiliated name sell ownself or watsoever. How they dispose all these 8000 cars alao noboday kws. :)

Good deal overseas? Nyahh... Dereg, take back omv and remaining coe, cars will be scrapped. All 8000 cars one shot. Dunno how gahmen going to tahan.

 

Most likely they kenna jiak below paper value. LCR dun care because wind up liao. No other way to get rid of 8000 cars. Let go at small loss better than hold until big loss.

 

Why not LCR dereg themselves? Prob they don't give a shiat to do so.
