She didn't plead guilty. That's inaccurate.

What's accurate is that hostage diplomacy works.

I don't think she tarnished the image of CPC since this is seen as a victory in their local media. The release of Meng and the two Canadian spies are for setting up a meeting between Biden and Xi later.

some ppl spreading fake news to savage a little bit of pride for usa and canada 😆

china didnt even want to wayang or put on abit of show like delay the release of the 2 canadians.

the 2 are release immediately after meng is release, is like telling canada and usa in the face, u catch my ppl? i catch your ppl. simple and straightforward

Meng Wanzhou is big-time. TV news showed her stepping off her flight home, down the air-stairs lined with red carpet.

On the other hand, those two canadian michaels are only ordinary dudes that happened to be in PRC at the wrong time.

The fact that canada or the USA would exchange two of their nobodies for Meng, shows how much they value each and every individual, and the effort to bring them home despite their non-status.

Imagine if it was the other way around, you think PRC will exchange a VIP westerner "hostage" for two of their ordinary citizens??

Agreement to those statements are different from a guilty plea.

No doubt this 2 michaels is the same as meng, they are victim of political fight between usa and china.

But like u say they are far from being ordinary. there are hundreds of thousands of Canadians living in china , why this 2?

The only difference being that after confessing to acts of wrongdoing she can still live in luxury and power! lol
