Beehive3783 Turbocharged November 29, 2018 Share November 29, 2018 For me, I change my own spark plugs, air filter, aircon filter and my car cams 2x single channel are also installed by myself. For more complicated jobs that require special tools or proper disposal of fluids, I just leave it to the workshop. But most of the time I am the one telling them what to check and what to change as I do check my car regularly. Like many others mentioned, if you have the interest, you will want to learn and know more. If no interest, no point discussing further. But for many who earn big bucks, i believe they are more willing to pay to get the job done without wasting too much time. Their main concern would be more on reliability and avoiding roadside breakdowns. Had a very bad experience when i left my bike in a ws donkey yrs ago...so now i dont trust any ws 100% especially those who calls me brother. But if i can earn hundreds or thousands of dollars while waiting at the ws i think i would prefer the money.....i just repaired my aircon on my own, it was blowing on/off on its own and i did a quick search and found the cause. I even fix my own carcam........i am such a cheapskate!
Beehive3783 Turbocharged November 29, 2018 Share November 29, 2018 There is a video on YouTube that talks about engine flush. It is a segment of Hot Version that features the boss of Spoon Sports talking about why engine and transmission flushes are not recommended. You may want to look for that video to understand more. On 11/26/2018 at 6:28 AM, Daniu82 said: Most of the time I don't even trust AD workshop. Read from online that engine flush should not be done unless your mileage is high, but my AD workshop asks me do engine flush and aircon servicing when my mileage is only 20k, I rejected them. When should engine flush be done? Comments experts?

Last time i work maintenance also adviced to use belt spray to prevent slippage. Some serpentine belt are made of certain compounds which will degrade fast if used belt spray. Best is to ask ws whether can use belt spray on the belt.

Of course after certain mileages, the material will deteriorate and its time to change the belt. That was what i picked up during my yrs in maintenance and operations in a powerstation. A lot of motors and equipments and each have preventive maintenance schedule to follow.

But you would need the original specifications of the spark cable to do comparison. On 11/29/2018 at 2:52 AM, Eviilusion said: Same here....i washes my stainless steel air filter.
