Naresh 1st Gear November 18, 2018 Share November 18, 2018 I am considering the new SEAT Ibiza, 1.5 EcoTSI DSG Stype Plus (A). It comes with 1-litre 3 cylinder engine, and generates 114 bhp. I have not yet test driven it, but I do like the interior design. The 8-inch infotainment comes with Apple Carplay & Android Auto. There is enough room in the back for 2 adults. The fit and finish while not luxurious is way better than my current 2013 Suzuki Swift Sport. The car review (on most car websites( are generally positive), and I do prefer small/medium hatchbacks. Good seating position and good visibility, coupled with good safety features. I have some concerns/doubts about SEAT's after-sales service. Some of the threads in other forums mentioned that the service engineers are not professional and not well trained. Do you have any experience with their after-sales service and reliability? I am also concern about SEAT's reliability - it comes with only 3-year warranty. Thank you in advance, Naresh. ↡ Advertisement
RogerNg_185295 6th Gear November 18, 2018 Share November 18, 2018 This was what I found previously. Whether it's true or not we really do not know
DACH Supersonic November 18, 2018 Share November 18, 2018 If you are not confident about Seat after sales services, probably you can go to do it in workshops outside. Best that you can find those specialising in VW cars since SEAT is basically using VW platforms. However you do need to consider giving up the warranty. Naresh 1st Gear November 18, 2018 Author Share November 18, 2018 (edited) Vertex got bring in 1.5TSI Ibiza?? Thought only have 1.0TSI? Sorry, that was a mistake... it is the 1.0 TSI. I did check with them if they plan to being in the 1.5 TSI FR, and they mentioned they don't plan to. Edited November 18, 2018 by Naresh

Naresh 1st Gear November 18, 2018 Author Share November 18, 2018 (edited) When you going to buy? I am still doing my research... haven't made up my mind. I am considering the Seat Ibiza because I think that it looks better that the new VW Polo - it has better lines. It also has a good steering, and just the right amount of tech - not too much. I don't like the crooked/angular daytime running lights in the VW Polo, as well as the sharp lines on the body panels in the new Polo (to many creases). But if after-sales service is going to be a issue, I should not discount the VW Polo, the beats versions does looks good on the inside. Tonyking 2nd Gear November 19, 2018 Share November 19, 2018 why not take a look at the Skoda Rapid Spaceback? if continental hatchbacks are what you are looking for. https://www.skoda.com.sg/rapid-spaceback
Kodiaqer 4th Gear November 19, 2018 Share November 19, 2018 shortlisted ateca among its class segment. went to showroom but no test drive. looking at AD post sale free servicing frequency interval, 5k, 15k, 30k in 2 years then compared against its closest cousins in the vag group, 15, 30, 45 in 3 years donno is it AD cheapo or donno how to plan out proper svc maintenance and donno if principal is the one which dictates or what bought the skoda cousin instead.

Given it is the dry 7speed DSG I would find a better AD.I would think as VW direct sales they would have better after-sales. Or maybe just wait awhile longer Skoda gonna launch their new Scala and design seems quite promising, provided you can wait.

kelaihoyin 5th Gear November 19, 2018 Share November 19, 2018 huh ? go where and find ?? Well when I mean a better AD indirectly means a different brand. Given how many SEAT cars Vertex is pushing out is probably doom to fail sooner or later. Since he decide on the SEAT and essentially is a VW car might as well consider the POLO like what he is planning to do. Better doesn't mean good. Better is comparative. Exactly, VW Polo should comparatively have better after-sales support. Anyway, I am not in a hurry... my 5-year Swift Sports is serving me well, so I can take my time to look around.
