3 months wait = they can bid 6 times. But most likely one or two times max. Since Toyota has large volume of sales, they will not outbid themselves. So they spread out the bids. Example they have 300 new sales over the weekend, they are not going to bid the entire 300 on the upcoming COE exercise. They still have previous weeks customers' car sales to bid also. Then certain weeks can be very slow lousy sales (during and after CNY) or when COE jumps up alot.

In other countries, you can probably drive out from the showroom straight away, wait a few days or latest 1 week's time (paper work, bank loan approval, etc). I highly doubt you'd wait 3 months to buy a Altis in Thailand as the Toyota factories there churn out more than 2000 vehicles per day (can easily google).

Collected my altis recently from AD..

Based on car warranty manual, it state free servicing for 1000km n 5000km.. This is on top of the usual minor and major servicing cycle..

When i collect my car, toyota auto book a "First Impression Service Booking" 2 mths later.

Q1) Is this estimate date for the 1,000km free servicing?

Q2) What will toyota AD do during this "First Impression Service Booking"?

Q3) Any estimate what is the duration?

Q4) Any cost/payment needed?

Thanks in advance

IMHO.
Hybrid or ICE?

Usually is
1k - change engine oil  (FOC)
5k - inspection (FOC)
1k is important because change engine oil.  So best is to time at 1k or slightly before.  You can change the date based on usage.
5k may be good to pay to change engine oil.

If send in early,  usually before 12 can collect.

P.S.  Check with the SA.

@Kklee thanks for sharing. Its ICE

For 5k, also need change engine oil ah? Will it be too fast since just change at 1k and the next servicing will be 6mths/10km

If ICE then should be ok to skip 5k engine oil change.
I feel 1k too short of time to break-in properly.
My reference is Hybrid, which like ICE, is 1k.  I checked at 5k, still can see metallic debris in the engine oil.
So perhaps you check engine oil dipstick and then decide for 5k.

P.S.  I try my best in case I need to renew another 10 year COE. 🤣

Does the facelift 1.6L Elegance also have TPMS?

I highly doubt it, Malaysia facelift 1.8L come with front LED fog light, Toyota tined glass by default and TPMS on top of what we have. Need to visit BM to test drive the facelift Altis and look at the spec given to SG.

I think you can call or FB them to get a SE - to ask them questions.  🤣
I answer question, also by Whatsapp'ing my SE. 🤣

Is TPMS a deal breaker?
Yes and No.  Most will change tyres elsewhere and may do tyre rotation which will be tricky.
BM may charge a fee for tyre rotation.

Jut take note of the difference between standard and elegance.

P.S.  Take note BM changed the servicing packages and prices.   🤣

I find TPMS is good to have but not say confirmed must have. If you have go pump air to your tyres and see the condition of the tyres once a while, should be ok. No need TPMS.

Agree to disagree.

TPMS is a must have. Drop of 5psi cannot be seen.

That’s where most of puncture.

On the other hand, I don’t necessarily need a factory TPMS.

But by right, most of the car model now comes with TPMS.

Altis always using quite old school features and techo, so TPMS sure don't have even for the latest gen altis. 😅 You see even the keyless door opening, altis only have it at the driver side. Many others car model already have it on the front passenger and driver side door.

If usage is short trips,  can do without because got ample time for the tyre to deflate.

IMHO.
TPMS got internal and external sensors.
External is easier as can just swap the sensors around.
Internal,  need to have the tool to re-program when doing tyre rotation.
My was internal - fixed it at the tyre shop.
