In Thailand, this is 1.8L GR Sport version.

Yes.

This is essentially dressing up the Thai 12 Gen Altis base grade 1.6L G variant to the top grade GR sport variant, but without transplanting in the 1.8L engine.

If this is a free upgrade then why not? But if you have to pay BM for this, I don't think it's worth it.

Typical BM/Toyota MO of tarting up a car with kits and addons, and not always in good taste. More don't always mean better. Should take a page from the quiet elegance of Mazda.

I remember Tan Chong / Nissan also had some sport / signature variant of the Sylphy a few years back.

Didn't like that body kit either.

Mazda design their cars right from the ground up. Other car manufacturers should take note.

The rims looks like it is the leftover from the previous gen which looks the same.

It would be good if they can do this to their Camry.  I had seen some really nice sporty Camry pictures from other parts of the world.

The previous gen altis also had TRD kit and anniversary edition. Wonder who will pay for these cosmetic upgrades unless its a free.

Seen the TRD version and anniversary version on the roads before and it still baffles me why would anyone pay more for that.

Actually I beg to differ. Cos Altis is such a common car out there, the only way to distinguish it is by the number plate. Imagine finding your car at the mall's carpark with so many others looking exactly the same.

There’s always a cheaper way to stand out from the rest.

just think out of the box.. and this adds aerodynamic qualities too

I remembered recently seeing 1 photo of a car with paddings all around it. That's "nice" too. Haha.

Just negotiate enough with the SA and you will get whatever add on stuff you want for free.

Never pay the AD for cosmetic upgrades like bodykit or spoliers etc. It sets a bad precedent. Just get the bodykit done at a reputable 3rd party workshop outside. Probably much cheaper too!

If a driver wanted his ride to stand out.

Buying an Altis will be the last thing on his mind.

But AD bodykits insurance is covered.

Any accident happens,AD will repair with bodykits included.

Third party bodykits if accident,AD will repair to original condition.
