Guys, how can we allow the biggest volume car seller authorised dealer Borneo Motors offer such shoddy product to us in year 2020?!?! When internet-savvy consumers have to simply do a google or youtube search on this car make, hundreds of reviews across US, Europe, Japan, Asia are available. 

Hey Borneo Motors, long gone are our parents generation. By offering this type of products shows you have absolutely no pride nor ownership in the dealership. More like a insult to Singapore consumers. Even Taiwan's 12th Generation Corolla has way better than this piece of crap HU.

No complain, no improvement. Remember when Kah Motors brought in the low spec Thailand HRV selling more expensive than the higher spec PI Japan Vezel kenna huge backlash?? Then they changed their mind to bring in from Japan thereafter.

The factory head unit is removed when imported, so as to reduce the OMV, otherwise if it exceeds 20k, it will fall into Cat B, making it out of reach for more buyers, not to mention the higher Coe price. It is the same reason as to why Borneo doesn't bring in the 1.8l or even 2l version which is a better engine. This is marketing strategy and as long as it sells well, that is their objectives.

The OMV for the Corolla Atis 2020 elegance is already close to $23k. So max loan is 60% if I am not mistaken.

Cat B COE only applies if the engine capacity is above 1600cc or 130bhp.

The HU, while ugly, is the exact same HU as what Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand are getting. Only some of the top spec variants in ASEAN get the nice floating screen type of HU. 

Even 1.8L will be considered to be underpowered. This car requires a minimum 2L pot to really go.

Indeed true that Toyota is selling by their badge rather than what their cars have which can offer to customers.

For other make like korean cars, since they are not selling by their badge, thats why they need to improved on their design, features, safety and reliability. If not dont think anyone would want to buy liao.

As long as PI don't bring in the Corolla, Borneo will continue to sell low spec cars with high margin.

Still remember this last made in japan corolla sold here in 2003. This corolla steering super light and the brake also very sensitive. Many of my colleagues were driving this corolla.
