They are working from the downstream ....should target the up stream if they want to solve the root of the problem.

Upstream:  crappy unreliable public transport and connectivity

Downstream: Punggol ah lians have no choice but to buy cars to transport themselves to work or send kids to school. Increasing the traffic load in the area that it was not designed for/planned for because the town planners ASS-U-ME that the MRT/bus network are reliable and is the "fashionable" choice for the young.

Who say their public transport and connectivity is crappy unreliable?  [rolleyes]  If you ask them, they would tell you their public transport is very reliable and good.  [:p]

This tampines flyover should be made similarly over at the other 2 junctions that’s bottlenecking the entire punggol/sengkang population!!!

The solution is to build flyover or overpass. To exit and enter TPE have to wait 2 traffic lights, which takes eternity during peak period. Very bad planning and foresight.

In JB, they build flyover just so you can U-turn.

What solution?? Even if ppl change their cars to bicycles the roads will still be jammed because everyone leaves home the same time for work/school/childcare. Imo build what also no use. Put forward the best planning you will still get the same result. Ppl on top have to limit the number of cars so that it wouldn't overcrowd the roads they have just built. The thing to do now is to point finger and blame the gahment. [laugh]

Blame gahment also no use cause they dont feel the impact of the jam-packed road and public transport.

People are never satisfied.

Build new road, say won't solve problem.

Never build, say don't solve problem.

Build MRT line, no use cause MRT breakdown.

Never build MRT, government not solving problem.

MRT breakdown, complain like no tomorrow.

MRT never breakdown, nobody say anything, no praises (even the best transport systems around the world have breakdowns)

Limit cars on road, coe high, complain government collect money and also cannot buy car.

Don't limit car on road, always traffic jam, blame government for not building enough road, never restrict car.

Build too much road, land become scarce, house become expensive, blame government again.

ERP expensive, say government collect money free

No ERP, traffic jam on road, blame government not building enough road.

Increase driving costs like parking in town/cbd, like Australia, Japan, HK. People will complain like no tomorrow again.

In my opinion, the gov never wins but at least they are trying to improve. Imagine during your work day, no matter what you do you are criticized, shiok anot?

Then the argument will become million dollar ministers never do their job. Question is, if they pay you a million dollars, can you come up with a better solution or do a better job? People in the private sector are paid much more, then no need to be under such scrutiny. Only need to report to boss or shareholders. Won't dig out personal life etc. Isn't that better?

Never ending.

Got build or never build new road will never solve the problem because it was planned poor in the 1st place.

Build MRT line, no use cause MRT breakdown.

Never build MRT, government not solving problem.

Because got buy new one or use old train also got problem, remember the brand new China made MRT incident?

MRT breakdown, complain like no tomorrow.

MRT never breakdown, nobody say anything, no praises (even the best transport systems around the world have breakdowns)

Because if got breakdown or no breakdown, fare still increased. How you expect ppl to praise?

Limit cars on road, coe high, complain government collect money and also cannot buy car.

Don't limit car on road, always traffic jam, blame government for not building enough road, never restrict car.

Build too much road, land become scarce, house become expensive, blame government again.

Cars dun create traffice jams, the main culprits are goondo drivers like road hoggers, no direcetion sense drivers & etc.

ERP expensive, say government collect money free

No ERP, traffic jam on road, blame government not building enough road.

Got ERP also jam lah, take a look at CTE towards Braddell in the morning.

Increase driving costs like parking in town/cbd, like Australia, Japan, HK. People will complain like no tomorrow again.

Of cos will complain lah, If our public transport system can be like Australia, Japan, HK., sure everyone will not complain like no tomorrow.

Hopefully the new road will ease the heavy traffic during the peak hours. And not just another useless road built. Lol.

exactly! keeping fingers crossed :a-happy:  now coming skool holidays liao. some aldy go holiday liao. their cars all in hibernation mode...  starting next year Jan when skool reopens than can really see REAL TIME SITUATION when they start sending kids & going work all at the same time whether it helps to ease the super jam. if not means Punggol super cramped aldy with houses popping like mushrooms!!! Phase 1, enter from Punggol Central (KFC there) to go into TPE/PIE and KPE towards town.

From KPE going back can bypass TPE into Punggol Central.

Phase 2, from Punggol Central can go Pasir Ris direct.

From TPE Changi direction towards SLE can go back to Punggol Central with the new road.

From KPE new flyover to TPE/SLE towards north.

Not really leh...although I have 150 points to distribute everyday and 99% of the time i only use up 50 per day...yet, I don't see any point to give a dislike unless the person is an a**hole and get's personal in his statement.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion in MCF.

Just like 70% are entitled to live in their cocoon of blissfulness as long as they get to buy their HDB, SERS/VERS, GST vouchers, utilities rebate, Pioneer/Merdeka cards...... so on and so forth....

Not everyone have the capacity for higher critical thinking and analysis. Some people just have very simple basic needs, we must respect that and be inclusive as a society.
