When he claims OD, he has to pay for the excess in accordance with his policy.

Subsequently, he subrogates his OD claims to his insurer.  His insurer only claims back whatever his insurer claims.

Unless claiming excess is included in the subrogation document.

Yes, only need to pay out of own pocket for the excess...insurer eventually have to pay back the recoverables including the paid excess...

Hi all, I am having a big headache with how the insurance company works.  Anyone has encountered cases where you won't be updated on the status of your claim?

I recently had an accident.  Motorbike rear ended me and I have video footage that shows not my fault.  As my authorised workshop does not handle third-party claim, I did an own damage claim.  After my car is repaired, I emailed the insurance company to proceed with recovery and excess claim.  That's when my nightmare starts.

1) my insurance company said they only handle recovery but not excess claim.  I had to settle excess with third party insurer direct.  So i asked for case no/claim no (whatever they term it) and the officer in charge of my recovery claim and they say my own damage claim is still pending so no info yet.

2) I asked if i will be updated on the status and the info, they said NO. (how then will I know who the third party insurer is?)

3) They are unable to tell me how long it will take for my recovery claim to be settled.  I asked about NCD because it's not my fault, they say will refund when recovery case is closed.  (is this true? If they can't tell how long it takes, will they drag until another cycle of renewal?)

4) I just received my renewal notice stating  NCD 0 and terms and conditions revised.

Faint!  anyone here can enlighten me?

Hi all, further to my previous ...I’d sent the excess receipt to the third party insurer. They replied that I need to “approach my appointed workshop to submit the claim”.

1)My workshop don’t do third party claim. 2) my insurer only recover repair and not excess paid.

what should I do now?? Please advise me. 😭
