Carbon82 Moderator October 16, 2018 Share October 16, 2018 What about renting a village, or even a COUNTRY?! I am not kidding you. I was there last December, quite a nice and quiet place if you ask me... Liechtenstein for hire at $70,000 a night Executives with cash to burn traditionally hire luxury yachts, secluded villas or expensive hotel suites to impress clients. Now they can take corporate hospitality to a new level by hiring an entire country, albeit a small one. The principality of Liechtenstein has decided to make itself available to private clients, from $70,000 (£43,000) a night, complete with customised street signs and temporary currency. It's a big step for the country best known for its tax-haven status and exporting false teeth: last year Snoop Dogg, pictured, tried to hire it to use in a music video, but received a stern refusal from authorities. Since then they have woken up to the marketing opportunities of their mountainous landscape. The price tag includes accommodation for 150 people, although the 35,000 inhabitants would remain. Any personal touches, such as an individual logo created out of candle wax or a customised medieval procession, come at an extra, undisclosed cost. Upon arrival in Liechtenstein, visitors would be presented with the symbolic key to the state, followed by wine tasting at the estate of the head of state, Prince Hans-Adam II. Other options include tobogganing, fireworks and horse-drawn carriage rides through the capital Vaduz. Visitors could also try cross-country skiing, snowboarding and snowshoe hiking to explore the picturesque landscape. The rental scheme is offered by Liechtenstein-based marketing firm Rent a Village by Xnet and hiring company Airbnb, which also has 10 European villages on its books. So, if hiring an entire country is too extravagant or overwhelming, there is always the option of renting a village in Austria or Switzerland for a mere $60,000 a night.

UncleAtas Turbocharged October 17, 2018 Share October 17, 2018 (edited) Googled for weird rentals and maybe you can try this. Caskets Mourners planning to have a loved one cremated can rent a ceremonial casket instead of spending thousands of dollars to buy one, says Jzyk Ennis, an at-large representative of the National Funeral Directors Association Executive Board. Usually, when someone is renting a ceremonial casket, a cardboard insert is put in and then the body is put inside. When you look into the casket, it looks just like any other expensive ceremonial casket. At the end of the visitation or viewing, the insert gets pulled out and a new one gets put in for the next person who rents the casket. The funeral director has the family sign a release so both sides agree on exactly how the whole process will work. “This gives you more opportunities to celebrate the life of your loved one and do that in a cost-effective way,” says Ennis. Windwaver Turbocharged February 10, 2022 Share February 10, 2022 No need rent, can buy one for $800 https://www.todayonline.com/singapore/man-jailed-cheating-pawnshop-s18000-fake-rolex-watch-1809896 Man jailed for cheating pawnshop of S$18,000 with fake Rolex watch SINGAPORE — A 55-year-old man was jailed for six months on Friday (Feb 4) after he conspired to cheat a pawnshop of S$18,000 with a fake Rolex watch. Tan Kok Eng, a Singaporean, pleaded guilty to the charge. Court documents stated that Tan was approached by his friend, 33-year-old Singaporean Aw Poh Heng, to pledge a counterfeit Rolex watch at Marsiling Pawnshop in exchange for some money. It was not stated when exactly he approached Tan. Aw, the co-accused in this case, allegedly told Tan that he had some outstanding debt to be settled and had already cheated the pawnshop twice on July 15 last year, by pledging two fake Rolex watches in exchange for S$34,500. He did not want to arouse the employee’s suspicions by pledging a third luxury watch over two days, so he allegedly asked Tan for help to do so on his behalf. After Tan agreed, Aw allegedly gave him a counterfeit watch that cost about S$800. ↡ Advertisement
