comic book, also called comic magazine or simply comic, is a publication that consists of comic art in the form of sequential juxtaposed panels that represent individual scenes. Panels are often accompanied by brief descriptive prose and written narrative, usually dialog contained in word balloons emblematic of the comics art form.

Do anyone here collect comic books?

Which titles do you have in your collection?

Which origins do you like? American comic books, Japanese Manga, Hong Kong manhua, etc.

What genres do you like? Superhero, sports, racing, funny, dark, etc.

I had tonnes of them. Mainly Japanese manga from the 90s and 2000s. Stopped collecting new and it' been many year since I start a new series.. Buying those that are still continuing like AOT and one piece. Think these are the remaining ones.

Have these in my collection:

Yuyu kakusho

Kenshin

3x3 eyes

GTO

Evangelion

get backers

Gantz

Bleach

ARMS

AOT

OP

Doraemon

Still got maybe around 5 to 10 manga series I can't remember. Sadly I don't own DB series. Too expensive for me then.

As for HK manhua, I only collect KOF series from 95 till 2002 I think. back in the days, they cost like 5 bucks a piece and more for those special editions. Not cheap.

Bro you started this thread but do not add any post to it. You read comics? Or started this thread to try and win NTUC vouchers? [scholar]  [thumbsup]  [rolleyes]

老夫子 counted or not?

I believe so. It's now considered cult comic as the artist passed away last year.

Why miss? Bookshops still carries his book and he is still alive and kicking.

I read all sorts of comics:

Sunday strips

Graphic Novels

Manga

Manhua

Webtoons

Comics

Used to buy the books but recently gone digital via Comixology App for Apple or Android.

https://www.comixology.com

But still some publications only in book form, esp local comics.

Local comics scene has been struggling but they had some really good ones in recent times, and I'm not even talking about Mediocre Asiapac titles.

Here are some I recommend:

I used to.

I first started reading and collecting Japanese manga back in 1990. A classmate introduced me to Dragonball and I started buying them. At that time, a local company called Chuang Yi was in charge of translating the manga from Japanese into Chinese.

After that, I also bought Ranma 1/2 and City Hunter comics. All of them were translated by Chuang Yi.

Later, in 1997 (or 1996), I bought several volumes of Ah! My Goddess manga from Taiwan.
