Those MAMIL's are wrong...... :a-noway:

In the RTA (Road Traffic Act) cyclist are to ride in a single file whilst riding on the main road.  :a-aggressive:

Certis-Cisco officers also wrong by cutting into their path and almost causing an accident.... :a-noway:

The officers could have drove another 100 m ahead andlet them approach in order to stop them to explain the rules governing riding on main road.  :we-all-gonna-die:

Actually the Cisco is the one that is wrong. They can cycle 2 abreast as long as it is not bus lane during bus lane hours and not single lane road.

LTA approved such 2 abreast cycling still makes them a nuisance on the road.

LTA is so good with nurturing stupid behaviour on the road. First bus drivers and now this.

Local road is built with no cyclist in mind.

So 2 abreast is simply sheer stupidity.

You are wrong.  RTA allows cyclist to cycle 2 abreast till Active Mobility Act came onboard.

Under Active Mobility Act, 2 abreast is no longer allowed on Single lane road.

There are many grey area here and TP should come out to clarify this matter once and for all for the benifit of all road users ...   :yuush:

Sometimes, authorities said to ride on destinated area. What are actually those destinated area ?

Pavement, roads, lanes, cycling tracks,..... etc  [confused]

Like at junctions or zebra crossing, cyclist to stop and push across or not to stop ?

So much grey area already in bicycle and now with additional PMD and motorised bicycle....   [bigcry]

I don't know how the current rules been and when does it changes to cycling abreast allowed .... :slow:

I had been cycling since late 60's and have not been cycling for the past 19 years. I all I know is that on main road, one is to cycle in single row. Not allowed to cycle on expressway.

Pardon me for my naive.  :lll._.:

They just updated the RTA this year. Now its clearer that cycling abreast is allowed. Previously cycling abreast also allowed but not very clearly stated.

2 abreast is in https://sso.agc.gov.sg/SL/RTA1961-R3?DocDate=20180504#xv-

It has been allowed either in 1992 or 2005.

That's way earlier than popularity of MAMIL.

I learned the existence of Road Traffic Act (Bicycle) from MCF.

Before 2018 amendment, 2 abreast has always been allowed since either 1992 or 2005.
