Germany continued their poor form by losing 1-2 to France this morning n now are in real danger of relegation to the second tier. Although this was a much improved performance n the Germans even took the lead with a Kroos penalty, France showed why they are World Champs by hitting back with 2 goals from Griezmann.

Netherlands beat France 2-0 this morning n ended France 15match unbeaten run. That means the mighty Germans are relegated to second tier at the next Nations League. If the Dutch beat Germany on Monday, they will go to the last 4 but any other result means the French go thru.

 

The previous night saw Croatia upset Spain 3-2 with a last min goal. This means this group is evenly poised going into the last match tmr night England v Croatia at Wembley. Winners will qualify for last 4 but if it’s a draw the Spainiards go thru. Chance for England to avenge the WC semi final defeat. Rakitic out injured.

England qualified for the last 4 of the Nations League with a come from behind 2-1 over Croatia at Wembley last night. Switzerland stunned World no. 1 Belgium 5-2 and also qualified together with Portugal and the last spot will go to Netherlands if they can avoid defeat in Germany or France if they fail to do so.

 

This much criticised Nations League turn out to be quite exciting and more importantly, competitive as there is something to play for unlike friendlies.

but the bad thing is key players got no chance to rest.

and coach got no chance to try new players or youngester or new tatics.

 

despite all of england build up and passing they cannot score.

 

but score from 2 set pcs.

Dane Thomas Gronnemark started working on a part-time basis during the club’s pre-season training camp, seeking to minimise the number of errors from the set-play.

 

He has been primarily helping the first team full-backs, Andy Robertson, Joe Gomez, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Nathaniel Clyne and Alberto Moreno.

The Dutch have improved tremendously under Koeman and showed great fighting spirit to comeback from a disastrous start as they were 2 goals down after 19mins. Shows also that the Germans are a far cry from the mighty team they once were which resulted in their relegation to the 2nd tier of this Nations League.

 

The draw for this last 4 tournament will be held next mth. It will be played in a k/o format.

Koeman is a good coach but he has also some very talented youngsters in his squad like Ajax duo of Matthijs De Lgt and Frenkie De Jong who are destined to come to the EPL in the near future.

England whacked Montenegro 5-1 in Baku with a Ross Barkley double, Kane, Sterling and Keane scoring. They gave a full debut to 18 yr old winger Callum Hudson Odoi of Chelsea who became the first player to start for England before he has even started for his club in League Football!

 

France beat Iceland 4-0 and previous evening Germany overcame Holland 3-2.

Portugal beat Switzerland 3-1 in the first S/F of the first ever Nations League with CR7 hattrick. He is determined to add another trophy to the Euros they won in 2016.

 

England play Holland tonite in 2nd S/F with winners playing in the Final on Sunday.

There is a 3rd place play off on Saturday.

I didn’t watch the match last night but I’m aware of the hype that Joao Felix is attracting from the big clubs. At £106mil, he shld be proven talent like Hazard n not potential. But he comes with a reputation of being the next CR7 so some big club might just take the plunge but I feel it’s just too high a price to gamble.
