Sunset73 5th Gear August 29, 2018 Share August 29, 2018 Dear all, Just want to ask, are heavy vehicles (Buses, 14 footer lorries, Tipper Trucks, Prime Movers etc) allowed to turn right on the extreme right turning lane if there are 2 turning lanes? Means 1 right turning lane, and the lane beside is go straight + turn right? Thanks ↡ Advertisement
Vratenza Supersonic August 29, 2018 Share August 29, 2018 it actually makes more sense for those heavy long vehicles to use the 2nd right turning lane as their turning radius is larger and might "eat into" the 2nd lane on completing the turn or risk clipping the road divider. UncleAtas Turbocharged August 29, 2018 Share August 29, 2018 No wrong no right. As long they can make the turn safely.

Unless they intend to make a right turn immediately after the right turn.May i know why you ask ?
DACH Supersonic August 29, 2018 Share August 29, 2018 For their lengths, they do not have much choices. Better than they mount kerb and overturn, especially the taller vehicles. Part and parcel of driving. Just know when and how to avoid them when making such turns to avoid expensive and unnecessary damages. Their tall driving positions, and lengths make it hard to judge the presence of other vehicles sometimes. And the longer these vehicles, the more hazardous they are. Eats into the second lane to make a u-turn that eats into all three lanes into the opposite direction, without any reversing. Don't know illegal or not since there is U-turn sign. But damn pro, and lucky it was late night and not much vehicles around.
Hamburger Hypersonic August 29, 2018 Share August 29, 2018 using the left most R lane should be the proper way to do it.
Tianmo Hypersonic August 29, 2018 Share August 29, 2018 seen too many doing this, basically those turning right again after the right turn, all lazy to change lane later. Problem is they end up without fail will road hog on the right lane..
epos 1st Gear August 29, 2018 Share August 29, 2018 seen too many doing this, basically those turning right again after the right turn, all lazy to change lane later. Problem is they end up without fail will road hog on the right lane.. As said above, heavy vehicle would rather choose the left most legal lane to turn right than the extreme right. The main reason is left side is the biggest blind spot and smaller vehicle especially motorcycle like to squeeze thru to overtake them, cause they seem as a road hog to them/you. Most heavy vehicle using extreme right lane to turn right is most likely due to they need to turn right again in the next junction. Since some Singaporean won't like to stay behind them--for whatever reason, they have to "chop" the lane first. ↡ Advertisement
