Buying Basic at $67k in Feb and now I think is between $72k to $77k depending on what price u bid means the margins have gone up tremendously as COE for Cat A is around the same now as in Feb 19!

Anyone took a look at the latest pricing method? I went to the showroom and now its flexible pricing (i.e. S trim at 55,999 and you can choose the rebate level you want and just add on). SE recommended choosing 21k rebate to make the S trim @ 76,999. Not sure whether that's too high as compared to previous fix quoted price. Comes with 3 yrs servicing.

Hi Bro, I'm looking to buy the S trim too. Did they share why 21k when current COE is 27k? I find the change in scheme to be without COE confusing for new car owners like myself. Hope kind hearted bro can clarify how this scheme can be cheaper/better Edited June 26, 2019 by Sootengfei

Thanks Spurman for sharing this info but i guess they are not hard up for sales with such an offer. With the current COE at 27k, i doubt an 18k rebate is useful

KMC always come up with funny tactics to sell car. In 2016, there was this tier 1 and 2 pricing. Now in 2019, you have bid your own COE price.

I signed the avante last sat. With my old friend. Uncle choo. My avante 2008 was bought thru him.

 

So its like an avante cycle later i got avante again. Hehe.

 

I din read simi price list then. Just a call to choo n a text later on special price. I looked ard small cars frm jazz. Polo n ibiza. Still i find avante best. Though bigger but heck end day my wife okay to try out a sedan.

 

I in no rush. So i expect to delivery frm aug to oct.

You can walk in and ask for their standard pricing... they just have these marketing gimmicks to draw in customers... for serious buyers they will have a price floor for bidding lar... probably it's anyone's guess what will happen to COE premiums... I notice they do this when they're unsure...

An honest test drive and showroom car review.

 

1. Drive is decent. Dun expect it to drivr like a sports car or those 1.0turbo cars.

2. Handling decent enough.

3. Good specs offered for the price point. 73.9k for a. 80.9k for elite.

4. Only soft plastics on top dash. Resr all hard plastics.

5. Good room. Decent leg space. Comfy seats.

6. Audio i tink is decent. Din pay too much attention to it.

7. No need min loan etc.

8. No need simi trade in.

9. Honestly the best looking small sedan rite now.

10. Interior maybe cerato wins a little. Design wise.

11. Somehow the price. The spec. The quality built. The package overall makes this car the best maybe along side cerato as the best.

 

Comparisons.

1. Mazda 3 new. Cant compare yet but tia gong this is expensive. Closer to mazda 6 price.

2. Altis. Well. Its a decent car. Maybe its high priced. Thus offer less value.

3. Cerato. I find this similar to avante i guess. But perhaps the looks dun grow on me. And yeah cycle too many restrictions to allow u to buy it comfortably.

4. I din get to compare the european makes though.

5. But if want to compare honda. I did molest the city when i look at jazz.

City well smaller lor. Spec wise i din see. But definately lower speced.

City base model omv is higher than avante s by 2k but spec wise, avante s seems better. 6 airbags on avante vs 2 airbags on city, will take avante anytime.

 

Both cars are equally good for budget conscious people though.

Seems like how low the price can go depends on the level of COE rebate which kind of determine how much profits that KMC would be willing to forgo to get our COE and close the deal. No longer the usual cash discounts we can get
