20 hours for refresher?? That's quite a lot.. most refresher course I saw only need like 4-5 hours..

90/HR * 20 = 1800??? That's more ex than a new license please

Total cost for getting a new licence now only $1800? Dont think got so cheap la.

Cheaper way is find those empty big carpark at pasir ris park or jurong science centre practice there.Actually all hdb multi story top floor is empty.

Big box also has a big parking with parallel parking too. Very empty.

Watch youtube then practice. Wont go wrong since already have license. But if uncomfortable go school refresh better.

I usually park my car on the top floor which is super empty with only 3 others cars taking parking there.

Once I saw a nervous gal driver learning to park and her "instructor" was her young boyfriend.

I asked nicely if she has a valid licence and boy boy said yes and wanted to show me.

Haha I got mine at 1k, but that's 10 years ago. Don't think the price inflate so much also. 50-60/lesson or even 70/lesson, then 20+ lesson.

Just find it funny refresher need 20 hours. I thinking the instructor like want cheat money

First lesson done. Feedback was I'm all right.

Some things that MAY justify the premium of $90/hour - friendly and polite, not strict on what you want to learn, will try to understand your lifestyle and the places you need to go and he will cater the lesson to these locations. We went Changi airport today to learn about pick up and drop off. Will be going to my office's carpark to practice as well.

He also mentioned about some daily insurance he buys that other private instructors don't provide. I'm not sure about that.

He also offered to come with me to pick my car when it's ready. And also practice learning with it.

Not so good things - he wants upfront payment, pretty insistent on completing the entire 20hours.

Ask him to fly kite. Refresher is just $50/hr. For max 4-5h nia.

He just wants to earn your money.

I think $90/hr still can accept if he is very good and accommodating but if he force u to go for 20hrs refresher then it is plain crazy..

Nobody takes 20hrs refresher! At most 3-5 lessons only..

If scare of quality can try school one.. School instructors are usually polite enough with sufficient skills since unhappy students can always make a complain or request a change of instructor.

I guess refresher course should not fix on how many hours must take. Should depends on individual progression and adjust accordingly.

I agree that 20hours is just plain unnecessary. So instead paying up front, I said I will only pay half, and will review again if I need more lessons. He is decent instructor who is accommodating, but 1.8k for 20hrs is too expensive and too much.

Yes try 3 lesson 1st. 1.8k can buy lots of things.

What i did i practice at the mscp top floor during the day. 1st time car owner here. Im used to driving LHD took a while to adapt.

Went for my 1k servicing at changi rd this morning. The experience is a good one! Did the booking through phone last sat and the helpful and courteous Mr Fong gave me a booking on Monday morning. I use my house phone to call and was surprised to receive a reminder via my smartphone yesterday. The servicing took abt 2hrs inclusive of a car wash. The car wash is decent. The supervisor, Mr David Lam is friendly and helpful guy as well. If there is any negativity to talk abt then the centre is not as atas as other service centre.

Going for my 1k servicing soon. How much cost for the servicing..

I saw the vouchers only indicate labour.

Cheaper to buy your own engine oil from carousell and bring it down. Less than $50 for a decent 4l engine oil.

Can get below 40 bucks too.

Hello all, I just bought an Avante.  :D

Read an article on it (link below from Hyundai's own website) which the author wrote:

Quote "Its only drawback is a higher-than-expected fuel consumption of close to 12 litres for 100km - much higher than its stated 6.7 litres for 100km." Unquote.

https://www.hyundai.com/sg/assets/UploadImage/News/upload_img_url/ST%20Avante%20Elite%20-%2020190221034255.jpg

12L per 100km (or 8ish km/ Litre) seems very high fuel consumption for its category at this age.  Is that the typical fuel efficiency for Avante in Singapore?

What are your experience w.r.t. its fuel efficiency?
