I don't need to ask. I will blow it all on wine women and song.

Take the wife to a nice wine bar with live band

Wine women and song.

Base on this i dont think you are talking about food tasting and testing your business.

Sounds more like leeching.

And therefore my corresponding advice

Dont worry. After so many of you guys advised against it, i will drop the idea. Keep the friendship better.

I guess that i am not cut out to be a businessman. Will just look at where to put the inheritance and not put in too much risk. Afterall, it will be my "funeral money".

Reduce your mortgage if any, Some SSB, some blue chips etc, about as safe as your money can get lor.

Don't need to stress, just live your life as per normal.

I won't suggest to reduce mortgage outright with interest rates still low unless the loan is from HDB.

I would use the money to pay off the money owed to CPF - that way, you start earning 2.5% on it and if you want to use it to pay off the mortgage in the future, still can.

I work in the marine side of the business. All i see and communicate with are big hairy dudes in coveralls. Unless you like dudes.

The ladies i see in the office are aunties. Only once a year, i see pretty gals from Hongkong. They are our group auditors. Young and pretty. Too bad i no speak Cantonese so cant understand what they talking. When they speak english, mostly is about work. Cantonese is used among themselves, 4 to 5 of them.

Hmm good point.

You can also top up you and your wife SA to the max of 160+k if not already reached.

Good idea but must be aware of certain restrictions before putting money back into CPF, e.g. CPF money cannot be used for equity loan (taking a new loan after the property has appreciated in value).  Unless near to 55 then not much issue as long as minimum sum is already met.

And if there's no outstanding loan at all, one may also refund to his CPF OA the accrued interest which he would have earned over the years had his CPF savings not been withdrawn to finance his housing previously. I did that after maxing out my SA and MA, and treat the refund as a form of investment diversification in an AAA bond.

AAA bond can be sold anytime. Once stuck in CPF OA means stuck there till mati.
