Supercharged

Was also thinking of putting some money into F&B. Have a current naval chef fren. He thinking of quitting the navy and setup a tze char stall. I know nuts about it. But maybe can help him realise his dreams and me having a passive income becoming a silent shareholder.

Like that can?

Rule number one for F&B , unless you yourself knows how to cook well , dun bother cos the main chef will squeese your balls in the future when the business is good ...

Been there done that , cafes , pubs , restaurants .... Same old shit happens again and again...

You must be prepare to write off the money that you have invested, cause if not you and your friend might ended up as enemy if the business could not pick up or encounter any problems.

Not to pour cold water...but IF it’s me...I’d only smile when I see the inheritance in my bank account...everything else is just a projection.

Your late Mother has left you the virtue of prudency and staying humble, which I find is more valuable than any material inheritance.

My best wishes to you and partner to make good use to the surprised windfall.

Yup. I agree. It was my uncles and aunties who initial the process to divide my grand parents estate. My cousin informed us to submit our names to the lawyer so that they can send us details what to do. Also to initiate the Letter of Administration for my mum's estate as my mum's share will be deposited into her account. We need to access my late mum's account to retrieve the inheritance.

Will wait for the money to appear in my bank account. But now need to spend money on lawyer fees to get the inheritance.

Singapore has alot of dividend paying counters, can consider investing in those and diversifying over REITS, Bond ETF's, Blue chip dividend counters. Chuck in there and keep reinvesting the dividends when its time to hang up the work socks should have tidy sum for world trips :)

Over the weekend, my cousin called my brother to inform him that they will be selling off my grand parents estate and my late mum will receive a portion of it. We are to go and apply for Letter of Administration from the courts to be able to receive the inheritance.

Not sure the details yet, dont know how much will be receiving as there are eight sibling. But thinking of it, brings a smile to my face. Hope that it will be a substantial amount.

I also hope not to spend all of it away. Hope to keep it for retirement.

Anyone been through this?

this one i had second hand knowledge, a good buddy opened a Halal Zicha restaurant 20years ago and got screwed by his cook and cook assistants when they staged a walk out after not being happy about the pay. obviously the business was pretty good at one point and they demanded for much more.
