Cyclist uses bicycle to block car driver at Sengkang zebra crossing, causes traffic jam

The cyclist apparently blocked the driver's way.

A cyclist allegedly caused a traffic jam at the junction of Anchorvale Crescent and Anchorvale Street after he dismounted from his bicycle at a zebra crossing to argue with a car driver.

Mothership understands that the incident occurred at around 7pm on Oct. 10 along Anchorvale Crescent towards Anchorvale Street.

The cyclist, a man clad in a grey shirt and jeans, was riding his bicycle across a zebra crossing.

The post's caption wrote that the car driver was a private hire vehicle driver.

While the Road Traffic (Pedestrian Crossing) Rules do not require the cyclist to dismount and push their bicycle at traffic crossings, it states that those cycling “must stop and look for on-coming traffic” before using a zebra or pedestrian crossing, according to the Land Transport Authority.

It is unclear if the video fully disclosed the extent of the altercation.

The cyclist could be seen gesturing towards the driver, and taking out his earphones and walking towards the car.

His bicycle was apparently positioned so as to prevent the car's driver from moving forward.

The dispute allegedly continued for a while, with the cyclist taking out his phone to take photos of the car and to make a call.

The next clip showed a line of vehicles behind the car, which were held up as the sky got darker at this point.

Mothership understands that the police were eventually called to attend to the situation.

Person who was held up in traffic missed mother's passing

Many in the comments section berated the driver and appeared to side with the cyclist.

One commenter even claimed that her friend was caught in the traffic jam and was unable to see her mother one last time before she passed away.

"When a parent takes their last breath without seeing their child arrive, or when a child misses the chance to see their mother for the last time, do you know what that feeling is like?"

The junction is beside Sengkang General Hospital.

This person is lucky to be covered by the doxxing laws in SG, if not, his details probably posted everywhere already.
