I think they also don't want to explain to the higher-ups if they recommend measures that are too stringent because then they would be pressed to explain how are those measures going to encourage more cycling for a car lite environment, something like such.

Who knows might be also that authorities had implied to them earlier not to rock the boat too hard.

Some things were probably just done for the sake of presentation to show that things have been discussed and conclusions done, even though the conclusions were already decided in default.

As a cycling enthusiast now, I am not in favour of having a licence plate affixed on the bike if it's big enough that can be seen.🤦

If it's small enough to prevent drag then can't see clearly.🤣

But we should ask how tour de France pros are being identified?

How marathon runners get identified?

Maybe put BAxxxxxX

Just like cars with bike carrier blocking the rear licence plate that have to hang another plate on the bike being carried, if caught by TP not doing that,  just get fine only.

This should apply to all cyclists incl children below 12.

The most dangerous place now is PCN and the pedestrian walkway.

Ask you all.  Can this be mistaken to be a cycling lane? I see many foreign workers cycling there and sometimes they cycle straight past the traffic light when it's a left turning lane. 

This is near the woodlands dormitory.  Near the Sembawang naval base.

This is confirmed not cycling lane.  A lot of foreign workers cannot manage our fast moving traffic

Yea i know but i start to see foreign worker cyclists bunching up there and even cycling opposite directions.  

Like accident waiting to happen 

I am not shooting foreign worker cyclists but cos a lot of factories and the dorms nearby, usually they are the ones cycling there, not the normal recreational cyclists.

I guess ppl staying/working around the area.

Even bus drivers know how to manoeuvre around them.

Think this is temporary,  maybe in preparation for additonal lane from the widened road. The barricades are there temporarily and the lines will be redrawn once done.

Used Google street view to view the stretch of road. Confirm from the surrounding that is the road bridge that is just beside the new coastal walk entrance, and the direction of travel for that accident was from Changi Beach towards Aviation Park just after the bus stop. Seems the perpendicular metal structure would eventually be cemented or tarred over as evidenced  by 1 of the structure shown on Google street view. If cement over would not have this kind of accidents.

I am riding the route at least 3 times a week so definitely would be paying more attention henceforth. But that stretch is not where most riders would be riding at higher speed but maybe that is why the rider had been lucky as would have sustained more serious injury. My observation is that most riders would go faster at the bend near the Changi Naval base area as there is a bit of gentle downslope. The main coastal road is quite flat and most riders cannot sustain even 35km/hr for the whole stretch, especially those not riding in formation thus cannot benefit from draft effects.
