A is Ireland. B is Korea and Japan.

I think for your case it is the type of transaction rather than country. Hotels and rental need to put a charge hold on the card and they cannot do it to a debit card.

I set it up for Grab MY just now when in JB. No issue topping up with Youtrip. SG wallet i used credit card. Not sure how it works, can't see my MY wallet in SG when back.

Grab use your location, and only show the local currency in the wallet, you can use location faking app to check your MY wallet. For me I only top-up grab wallet in ringgit so that I can transfer the money to the petronas app, otherwise I leave it empty.

My YouTripped card contactless function stopped working. Anyone encountered similar issue?

Emailed them for a free replacement. If they want to charge nme then probably will cancel and apply again.

That's true. It can be a combination of country and type of transaction. It worked with car rental companies in Japan and Korea. Depends on how much that particular vendor trust debit cards, especially those that require a deposit hold.

I think youtrip can. I paid for my hotels in Langkawi with youtrip with a charge hold. At least I've not really encountered any problem. I usually prepare both youtrip and regular cc.

Today had a chance to test out trust and youtrip fx rates in JB.

3.04 vs 3.297

Youtrip wins hands down. Is trust fx competitive in other countries?

Can add iChange card to TnG eWallet for top-up free in MYR. Today's rate 3.299.
