Neighbor just taken delivery on A class, PI model I guess.

Frankly, the overall aesthetic look okay.

But, he head lights and break-lights (oblong shaped like K3 2 gens ago) are quite small...a bit not proportion...

Front bumper looks great though...

In side I no see...

torsion beam in a non-mpv 150k car.

hmmm lol.

I would have thought that CLA and B class are the entry level cars nowadays for Merc.

Of course the proper spec-ed car is the a250. but 170k, not cheap siah.

U want then pay lor

Alot of dealers also liddat one la, just to make you pay more

Pi one comes inclusive lei. Excluding would mean some 150k for an amg line? For that price, your options are tremendously enlarged wor.

Can get the next segment but typically that’s how they price their cars.

When I bought a Mazda 3 2L back then, the price is equivalent to a mz6 standard.

Only 2L engine and above is using multilink

Generally speaking, when japanese/korean manufacturers make a car model with independent rear suspension, it's across the entire range no matter how watered down the specs. Even the civic 1.6 in singapore has multi-link.

But the Europeans like to differentiate within the model itself lol... I can understand this concept with adaptive suspension cos that's really a "add on" but ...

W176 A class uses multi-link across entire range from A160 to A45.

W177 A class uses torsion beam for 1.33L version.  There is no option to select multi-link.  There is only 1 reason.

What you said about adaptive suspension is related to shock absorber used, which will use different setting for damping and rebound.

Adaptive shock absorber can be used on both torsion beam and multi-link.

Even expensive sports car like Porsche does not have adaptive suspension as default suspension.

Neutral Newbie

Only 2L engine and above is using multilink

From what I read, almost all websites listed such info, and I quote "The A-Class hatch is mechanically conventional, too, from the transverse-mounted four-cylinder engines and MacPherson strut suspension up front, to the simple torsion beam axle at the rear, the first ever on a Mercedes-Benz. The company that has long prided itself on engineering complex rear suspension layouts hasn't completely dumbed down the A-Class, however: Higher-spec models, like the A200 AMG Line tested here, come with a multi-link rear end."

Porsche not good example ... becoz it is their sales strategy ... almost everything are options to them.. even A//C is an option..

Any clue if they are still discounting the showroom unit by 17K ?

Sorry bro, I’m not sure.

In fact, I didn’t even know they were giving such a hefty discount for the showroom unit.

boot space looks impressive for a hatch

the interior design is even nicer than current bmw x2, 3 and 4 series

Yes boot space seems decent for a HB.

IMO, Benz interiors are always nicer than BMW almost across the board. What BMW wins is the drive, just my 2 cents.

i think 2 generations ago, their interiors are comparable

now the gap is even larger. just see the new 5series and e class
