AAS towing service so bad ah?! But their road side breakdown assistance still quite ok.

To be fair, it was morning peak hours but if you read Chinese, 养兵千日,用兵一时.

Service is ok but if they can't stay on par with commercial operators, I find it hard pressed to part with the annual membership fee.

1.5 hours in sg is bad. but at least you know if it breakdowns n you have to leave the car somewhere it isnt so bad cuz its sg. in msia i cant even leave the car even if i want to. either stolen or probz towing never comes. even when the msia tow guy say okay okay coming cant help but to wonder if he will really come. that day itself i called PLUS hotline so many times nobody answered. only 20 mins later it got through n even then they couldnt tow it to the exit when they arrived.

Yup.

With repair bills of $15k and COE at a low, AXA could offer to pay scrap value given current market condition, perhaps time to change car?

Well, you are blessed that noone is hurt, that is most important.

Glad all is well.

Looks like I should consider AAS membership again but it is totally useless to call them in SG, they don’t have sufficient towing capacity. Last tow I was told to wait 1.5 hours for the tow truck, I had to call another towing company, which arrived in 30mins.

Anyway, city folks like us have a tendency to drive real close to the vehicle infront, even on a high speed driveway. If you drive overseas in countries with huge land mass, the locals will usually get very nervous when it is a city folk is tailing them.

I last used AAS towing service last month. Car couldn't start, called AA. They came and checked, said not batt fault (if it is, they could change on the spot for a fee). So they asked is it need tow. Told them yes, and they said office will arrange, and the orange pickup left. Liaised with their office, who said will be outsourced. Less than an hour later, the 3rd-party tow truck arrived.

You mean they snail mailed the letter you all way from Malaysia to India? Or is this an email?

I'm not sure how minor is your accident but usually appearance in court is warranted only if there was injury to life or limb of the other party. So your minor accident may not be so minor...

Finally if you don't ever intend to come back to Malaysia you can ignore the court summons but if you ever set foot in Malaysia, you may be arrested at the point of entry for not complying with the court order... otherwise you can engage a lawyer to represent you in this matter. You don't have to be physically present in Malaysia but your lawyer can represent you in court...

He posted in 3 threads asking same question. Probably urgently want answers...

I googled the charge,

"ln166/59 010 t/dapat kawal semasa pandu"

seem like minor charge. Probably was unresolved so send to magistrate court.

Oh I see.... then just email and ask how to pay the fine... think won't be too difficult or troublesome though...

@teomingern Hi, it was a minor accident with no loss of life or even injury. I lost control so just hit the side rails and then after 15 seconds of drifting on the road was hit by a Van from behind at less than 15km/hr. Yes, they send this letter to India. I called up the rental car company after a suggestion from the forum. They are figuring it out with the Police.

Ah that's good... I think it's good to always report any accident to the Police regardless of how minor the accident may seem... once the Police ascertains on injuries or loss of life then they just ensure both sides have insurance cover and let the insurance companies take over...
