what happened to your car? if its a breakdown never try to tow to workshop nearby see if they can settle? at least can continue with the trip.. of cuz if its a new car i know not many will dare to repair their car in msia which is understandable.

Maybe can call up AA singapore to check on this. If they also support towing of vehicle in case of accident in outside singapore, then it is good to become member with them.

this is whats on their website. will email them later to check. it states if you are a member and in the evident of an accident in msia, you can utilize AAM services but have to pay.

I think I need to edit my post. When I was panicking and googling for towing services in Malaysia, I came across AA (Malaysia) number and I called them. But they said I have to be a member, which I believe if u are a member of AA (Singapore), u should be able to use services in AAM. Now that I checked again, it says u are able to enjoy reciprocal service in 8 other countries including Msia but only for breakdown and not accident. And also services are chargeable.

I am not exactly sure. Anybody with AAS membership here?

yes if you are member of AA singapore, they will direct you to call AA malaysia.. i rem i paid rm700 to tow from JB to SG.

The tow truck uncle say only AA member have these rates if not, it is usually about rm900-rm1k+ depending how much workshop want to carrot.

He also mentioned all trucks using JB customs truck lane have to pay RM300 to customs even for empty truck... not sure true anot...

mine was about later afternoon or early evening on a Sat.... not sure why you say need to wait for truck lane to open at 12mn

Good if they support, pay is ok. Afterall think AAM should be better and trusted than others towing service.

Glad all is well.

Looks like I should consider AAS membership again but it is totally useless to call them in SG, they don’t have sufficient towing capacity. Last tow I was told to wait 1.5 hours for the tow truck, I had to call another towing company, which arrived in 30mins.

Anyway, city folks like us have a tendency to drive real close to the vehicle infront, even on a high speed driveway. If you drive overseas in countries with huge land mass, the locals will usually get very nervous when it is a city folk is tailing them.

which part of jb to sg? jb as in jb town itself? the accident happened around 7pm on a sunday evening. by the time everything settled and truck towed car nearer to jb aldy like 1130pm so he said they open only midnight. not sure if theres supposed to be closure also as i didnt ask. thought its a norm. for me i didnt have to pay anything at the custom. RM1100 includes towing in msia, crossing of two custom, and also towing to workshop in sg.

1.5 hours in sg is bad. but at least you know if it breakdowns n you have to leave the car somewhere it isnt so bad cuz its sg. in msia i cant even leave the car even if i want to. either stolen or probz towing never comes. even when the msia tow guy say okay okay coming cant help but to wonder if he will really come. that day itself i called PLUS hotline so many times nobody answered. only 20 mins later it got through n even then they couldnt tow it to the exit when they arrived.
