Liverpool 4 ManU 1

Last game of the USA ICC tour.

Not getting too carried away with the scoreline or win since both sides missing a number of first teamers.

But Shaqiri with a superb overhead strike.

DS seems like a changed man. Just look at the way he went up to Shaqiri to celebrate the goal and thank him for the assist. He seldom acknowledge the assist and often celebrate on his own when he score in the past. Shaqiri is not some long time player at LFC. Speaks a lot about his new attitude.

Overall, players seems eager to play and impress in the friendly games so far. The youngsters no doubt have very little chance to play in the first team but they are showing their desire.

Looks good for the season ahead.

interesting article on chemistry in the Pool squad...

Light-hearted Liverpool squad a throwback to glory days http://www.espnfc.com/club/liverpool/364/blog/post/3575969/liverpools-fun-loving-close-knit-squad-a-throwback-to-great-teams-of-past

looks like the article is true to a certain extent...

Most of the news websites reporting the stark differences in the post match interview between JK n Moaner.

While JK were full of praise of the youngsters, Moaner more or less just threw the whole lot of them under the bus.

A repeat of his 3rd season syndrome?

-- Liverpool have accepted a bid worth £3.5 million from Rosenborg for Pedro Chirivella, a source has told ESPN FC.

Chirivella is set to travel to Norway in the next few days to complete the deal, having just returned home from Liverpool's preseason tour of the U.S.

Rosenborg will pay an initial £2.4m fee and potentially a further £1.1m in bonuses for the 21-year-old.

The source said Liverpool have insisted on inserting a buy-back clause for the first three seasons of the Spaniard's time at Rosenborg.

Personally, the bicycle kick from Shaqiri was pretty impressive. He was also under pressure from a defender who has challenging him so it wasn't a clear open space for him to execute it. But he made it look so easy.

Clearly, that's the value that Shaqiri brings to the team. some amount of x-factors and unpredictability. He has scored this type of acrobatic goals and most of his goals are usually outside the area. Something which the current Pool's squad doesn't do much.

How his ego and arrogance can be tamed and focused to beneficial usage (instead of being detrimental to the team spirit) is something that Klopp needs to watch.

clearly a better strategy rather than just loaning these type of players season after season...

I think Shaqiri attitude and application was excellent.

I also think the Neville brothers are unprofessional and a disgrace.

well... there must be some ego/arrogance in a player who's coming in as a sub and trying to change a match. I mean putting on milner or JH to execute the boss instructions is ok, but yeah need someone with some confidence coming in and saying, I'm going to change the match.

If you ask me, before we got him, i do agree to some extent that Shaqiri's attitude is questionable. For him, especially, cos he has the technique and skills, he would at times feel that he deserves the special treatment.

Let's hope that his lack of success till date (bayen success is not due to him at all), will make him more humble now that he's once again a small fish in a big pond (c.f. to Stoke where he was a big fish in a small pond). Then if he can be trained properly and work hard for the team, he might well turn out to be a bargain and roaring success. Think of Coutinho when we first bought him...

Keep our fingers crossed...
