Pedro Chirivella said no to Rosenborg - but Liverpool will still look to sell him this summer.

Neutral Newbie

The thing about Shaqiri is that he did not sign thinking that he will be squad player. He is typically egoistic in nature and he will put up a strong challenge to the front 3 or make it into the squad as an AM.

As long as he does it without being too abrasive and confrontational, such challenges should be welcomed in a squad that is competing on numerous fronts. It keeps them on their toes and in the event they are off-form or Klopp requires a different tactical approach, the optionalities will present themselves..

Same thing for Sturridge... frozen out last season and he has now returned to show that his game is not about his individual brilliance but how he can contribute to the team..   this will only increase his workrate and teamwork..  the very ingredients which Klopp will accept from anyone wanting to break the current front 3.

Last season, besides the front 3, Pool only has Ox, Solanke and Ings. This season, there will be additional challenges from Sturridge and Shaqiri.  Definitely stronger bench at the very least.

klopp seems to sign players with a view on how their personality is, that said it is a bit surprising that shaqiri is signed.

For eg, i certainly don't imagine someone with a personality like zlatan ibrahimovich for eg, to be in the club

Too cheap to miss out on him. I think he is worth at least 20 million pounds.

If ego too big, then he can look at how Klopp handle Sahko. Klopp has set the example that nobody is bigger than the team. So he should know what he sign for.

Pool won in style and could have a few more goals if the forwards like Firmino, Mane and Sturridge were sharper.

1 more pre-season on Tuesday at anfield and Pool will be ready to start. I suspect Klopp won't be playing his 1st team [against West Ham] much for this pre-season game..  it is probably more to appease home fans for the pre-season festivities.

Pool strolled to a 3-1 home victory over Torino, completing the preseason fun with a comfortable home victory for the fans. Pool always looked in control and despite a largely changed side in the 2nd half, it still ran out comfortable winners.

Concerns will be the centre-half as Gomez was not fit enough to start. VVD had to partner a young Nat Daniels.  Klavan and Matip are already ruled out of the sunday game. Lovren is just back from his cruise.

Expect Klopp to play Gomez on sunday as he thinks he will be ready by then. Otherwise, Pool's season will start with some form of a defensive crisis.  Think Lovren will be on the bench for insurance purposes.

Fabino doesn't look ready yet for the 1st team. He is still adapting to Pool's style. I expect Klopp to go easy on him and use him as the squad player first. How Klopp prepared Robertson until he was fully ready last season . likely the route he will use for Fabino.

Henderson or Milner will probably start as the no. 6 at the weekend. Wijlnudum may be another choice if both not fit enough. He was superb in this game with Torino.

In the attack, there have been calls for Sturridge to start.. he has an impressive 6 goals in the preseason. However, I think Klopp will probably keep it safe and start with Bobby, who is also starting to look sharp.  1 goal + 1 assist in this game, in 45min.

Gini for sure is out to impress JK.

Porridge is looking sharp.

Shaqril.....need not say anything.

He is simply a eatigo with 50% off at any dinning place.

klopp was just saying that fabinho is the only 1 left to really get in sync with the club. surprisingly, he said fabinho might not b fully fit. which shouldnt b the case as he wasnt involved in the world cup. n jus when they wanted him to b more relaxed with a goal....he missed a penalty!

so jus hope fabinho can catch up quickly. cos for now, my first choice midfield will b fabinho, hendo n keita. looks like hendo n gini will start with keita.

front 3 looks likely to b still mane, firmino n salah. with sturridge n shaqiri always ready in case firmino is deemed to need more rest.

Yep, a good transfer window so far with 4 quality additions follow up with impressive pre-season games. Just can't wait for the season to start.

While all eyes will be on Mohd Salah, I am picking Naby Keita and Sadio Mane to have a wonderful season. Daniel Sturridge will have a good season scoring 15 goals as well. Roberto Firminho and Mohd Salah to contribute 20+ goals each.

Keita will have a run at the Player of the season award.

On the Premier League, I am picking LFC to push Man City all the way to the wire and the ultimate winner can be either of both teams.

For Champions League, LFC to make the semis and after that it's finger crossed.

Last but not least, Jose Mourinho to be the first Premier League Manager to be given the boot this coming season.

all good stuffs lol

This is the best transfer window for Pool in my living memory. Not only in terms of the price paid but any sensible fans will realise that Klopp had invested so well for positions so needful in the squad.

Think the front 3 will always share the goals load collectively.  anytime an opposition tries to double up against 1 of them, the other 2 will be freed to do the damage. I expect all 3 to hit 15-20 goals at least.

Ketia as the player of the season will be quite a long shot. But he is really a unique player and I dare say fully suited to the way Klopp plays - high energy, quick passing and running into spaces. That's why he has adapted to Pool's style almost seamlessly during the preseason. In contrast,  Fabino needs more time especially since he used to play in the French league with Monaco.

For the Special One - it is a case of not scoring too much own goals to cost his own downfall. This is clearly the case during the transfer window as he has repeatedly commented on the owners/management for not giving him his transfer targets. Will these noises grow louder in the season when he continues to moan especially when results aren't favorable? That is something he needs to tread carefully... unless he is  already now plotting his exit. some pundits are already speculating that he wont last the season.. maybe that will also come as a relief for Utd fans..
