Alright, what was I thinking!  I forgotten I did a lot more than just HU swap.

 

It's due to Google not releasing AA Wireless in SG yet - that's what this thread started.  It's a pity Google is fueling iPhone followers for this group of people.

 

$80 is for the full installation, yup went to the shop you mentioned.. 

 

For the AA wireless, I don't think it work on non pixel phone for now.

I don't think 9250 is different than 9150 when it comes to AA Wireless. Check out he top of this thread.

Depend on cars. Our Forester uses 5v reverse camera so need to step down from pioneer HU if we want to use back the camera.

 

$80 is definitely carrot. Mine at $60 also carrot but what can you do when half way thru they start telling u to add all this hidden cost?

 

Find out exactly what cost is needed for your car upfront.

Yours is SJ? A lot of installer said need the converter. But actually can be done without. My installer settled it nicely no additional stuff. Then again he used to own a SJ himself, so he and his guys know the car inside out.

probably we were chopped or your installer just took care for you without additional cost......i did not verify the camera voltage though. 

 

i did a check and found aftermarket reverse cams is relatively cheap from TB $20-40++ only.

I did at class auto. U can check with them for your future electronic mods as they quite familiar with the SJ. Whether u want to engage them is up to u, but at least u get information from them and you can compare around

Some updates on my 9150 here:-

 

1.  Did not do any software update as originally planned as the system-hang that happened before went away, so if it aint book, don't fix it right?

 

2.  Recently, my HU occasionally displayed symptoms starting from unable to use any functions from the HU (such as changing from radio to Spotify, in fact to anything on screen, akin to a system "hang") and then after that, music just stopped playing altogether.

 

3.  Radio function couldn't be used, when i press on the radio icon, it just jumps right back to the home screen

 

4.  The most recent and most annoying of all, when I press on the Spotify icon, the whole screen which should show everything from folders, playlists, music types etc, is just black and blank.  Music is still playing and I can control the music functions from my iPhone but not from the screen.  Really annoying.

 

My installer is now checking with Pioneer for troubleshooting - initially I was told that the current software version of 12.3.1 for Apple may have some glitches and they are looking into it.  But my software version is 12.2 - I am now updating the software to 12.3.1 just to make sure I am aligned with what Pioneer is saying.  

 

Any of you peeps encountered the same issue as mine above?

 

Frustrating...  I am not sure how to upload pics here, else I would for issue 4 above.

I've been getting a little bit of weird issue but they just went away but recently, a little more frequently HU not connecting to iPhone X.  Power cycle (on/off engine) and connection is back.

 

I strongly believe it's due to iOS upgrades.  The other suspect could be if 9150 uses some kind of cache that gets corrupted over time and if it can be factory reset.

i do occasionally have system hang or abnormality while connected to carplay. i have yet to try using the z9150bt without the carplay. i suspect either my expensive Anker lightning cable or IOS 12.2 is glitchy with my Xs.

 

Most time is working fine.

 

Shall update if i have some findings.

 

If your issue cannot be recreated properly to show pioneer, they are unable to do much for you. Do Pm me if you managed to make a 1-1 exchange though within the warranty period. Thanks!

Back to topic - So I updated my iPhone's iOS and lo and behold, the blank screen i experienced before on the Spotify screen came back!  Happy I am; however, skeptical if it is truly a matter of iOS as suspected by fellow users Reo and Fumio74.

 

I am crossing my fingers these problems do not persist, else it really defeats the purpose of upgrading one's HU with unresolved unknown issues, just for that better sound quality...

Most audio shops will have.

 

Alternatively go to the pioneer website, if using mobile phone, click on "Find Stores" at the top.

I tempted to switch to iPhone cuz wireless, I'm comfortable with both android and apple cuz have been using both on and off. But I see the price of the new apple phones, no thank you hahaha

Hi. May I know your preference 9250 over 9150? I was told by an installer, the advantage of 9150 is weblink and he recommend me 9150 to 9250. Also 9150 is wireless and 9250 is wired. Was wondering if there is any other differences.

Going by the model number, 9250 should be newer model of 9150.  I doubt there many enhancements that set 9250 apart so if 9150 is a discount, 9150 might be worth it.

 

When you can use wireless CP and wired AA, I'd never touch weblink, which is so ancient in technology.  

 

I'd not go any where near the installer you mentioned.
