Hi I had asked one of the installer.. They mentioned that they will need to have a step down for the reverse camera and charging 80 dollar for that.. Is that true or carrot?

I have an x trail pre facelift. changed to 9250. all steering works if using a can bus interface. reverse and 360 works. only thing is you can't use the display button that use to exist to just view front cam as a single function.

no regrets for me changing from stock to 9250. android play works well especially with Google assistant reading and replying messages via voice

Not for my case and don't believe there's a need.  It's a standard video feed using RCA jack.

Go to another trust-worthy installer.

I went knocking on their door first.  They insisted I need an add-on interface for my car wheel, and would costs some $200+

I went to the second one and was very sure I didn't need one for my car, and true enough after I have the Pioneer installed there.

Mine is an Altis.

I was told that I will lose the dynamic lines from the reverse camera. 2 shops said the same thing. Either change the camera or add a DC-DC converter. I think the reverse camera needs 5V while the Pioneer outputs 12V.

But, there is no need for a converter to retain the steering wheel controls.

Still undecided between 9150BT or 9250BT.

I did compare the specs on the website. Looks similar. Hence, the question. Maybe, it is those little details that changed.

Mine is not a 9150, but is a 7250 that ive recently changed. had the same question between 7150 and 7250. iirc, there were a few more file formats that the newer version can support, thus i went for the newer one

Me too. I wanted one with dual phone connection that I can answer phone calls from either phone with a press of a button on steering wheel. Which one will that be? 9150 or 9250?

Depend on cars. Our Forester uses 5v reverse camera so need to step down from pioneer HU if we want to use back the camera.

$80 is definitely carrot. Mine at $60 also carrot but what can you do when half way thru they start telling u to add all this hidden cost?

Find out exactly what cost is needed for your car upfront.

Just realised you're talking about the 2 straight converging lines for reversing ?

My installer didn't tell me I'll be losing them too but no big deal.  You can set them up on the HU (although it's a little tedious at the beginning but it's a one-time deal).

Secondly, the lines are good to have and again, it's not a big deal without them.

I speak for 9150.  I was hoping it would support dual phone connection but in practice, always 1 BT connection at a time.  I remember somewhere I read Pioneer's marketing collateral that it can do dual BT but then, it could just be marketing.

OK.. Yup finally installed the 9250 with a reliable installer. Driving a subaru xv and I bought the 9250, wire harness and dash kit myself.. Only thing is that they saying the radio antenna need a harness, steering wheel control work flawlessly without any additional hardware. Original reverse camera need step down. Spend like 2hr installing, total damage $80.

Congratulations.

Wow, the entire installation for just $80 or you're referring to only the camera feed ?  Did you go to the shop I mentioned or elsewhere ?

For my case, was told there's a need to buy an antenna adaptor which was not included in HU and was charged $30.  It was a very simple wire and if bought online, should cost only a few bucks.

Toyota provides 2 types of camera. One of 12V input and one with 5V input. If I get the pioneer, I need to change to a camera that supports 12V input.

Basically, need to change the HU and camera together.

I have the Z9250 unit. Anyone successfully connected wirelessly for Android Auto? I can connect it with cable using Huawei Mate 20 X.

The wireless mirroring is a cool function, but it seems to disconnect after awhile. Any solutions to this?

Congratulations to your latest acquisition.

I don't think 9250 is different than 9150 when it comes to AA Wireless.  Check out he top of this thread.

$80 is for the full installation, yup went to the shop you mentioned..

For the AA wireless, I don't think it work on non pixel phone for now.
