Sorry for the late replied. We looked at both XC40 and S60 during the weekend, XC40 is smaller but price is the same. Prefer the S60 rear legroom.....spacious Wifey is still deciding since she is going to be the one driving........ I opt out to comment so that she wont comment my purchase choice as well 😁 ↡ Advertisement

I opt out to comment so that she wont comment my purchase choice as well 😁 I suggest you buy the Volvo S60 than the XC40 from a cost and practicality point of view. But of course you and your wife should decide base on your preference. Let's talk about cost based on the figures on SGCARMART, but you an based on my calculation and replaced with the price Wearnes is offering you. XC40 T4 R-Design Selling Price: $179K; ARF: $32,051; Depreciation: $16,300 Basic Cost: $124,010; Premium 44% Launch Date: 2018 Built In: China S60 T4 R-Design Selling Price: $186K; ARF: $42,420; Depreciation: $16,500 Basic Cost: $143,880; Premium 29% Launch Date: 2019 Built In: USA As you mentioned it's the same price so once you replace the selling price with what Wearnes offers you, you will find that you are paying less for a bigger and newer car which is made in USA compared to a smaller and older car which is made in China. Also on a side note, look at the margin Wearnes is getting for XC40 compared to S60 and you will find that either the XC40 is overpriced or the S60 is more reasonably priced. Not to forget S60 should give you better fuel consumption. But end of the day just take my analysis into reference but decide base on you and your wife preference.

For me, between 95 and 98. there's a diff. 98 more fuel efficient and last longer before the next top up. [around 2 weeks] 95 seems to drink [Yum Seng] my petrol. Seriously there can't be a 30% difference.

Also at that price difference is the lower fuel consumption still more economical? I'm not disputing just wondering out loud. I mean the price difference between 95 and 98 is about 20%? Is the fuel consumption more than 20% lower? And therefore the price per km between 95 and 98 10 minutes ago, Volvobrick said: Jin bo? firefly20 3rd Gear March 17, 2021 Share March 17, 2021 All these talks of RON 95 vs 98. Anyone gg for the Shell V Power promotion at the price of RON 98 on 19-21 & 26-28 Mar?

All I can say is, the distance to travel for me is rather fixed throughout the month. [No drastic change] Just so happen petrol prices sky rocket, so I decided to give 95 a try. But was shock by the fuel consumption, so decided to go back 98 to monitor again. Turns out 98 suit my drive style, I reckon. Although 98 price from Shell is not the cheapest, but no harm to try pump Vpower since petrol price is crazy now. Especially, if you compare Vpower to 98 pricing, not too huge diff. As compare 98 to 95 pricing.[Crazy] LOL

I mean of course if you like 98 who are we to stop you ha ha. I have this friend of mine who swear by 98 as well previously. He keep saying fuel consumption better till I told him to do his own calculation on the price per km between using 95 and 98 before he realize that the better fuel consumption is not enough to cover the differences in price.

douglassim 1st Gear March 18, 2021 Share March 18, 2021 Yo buddies, To own a car in Spore, means we are rich. [Especially, own a continental Car] LOL So can't complain much when petrol price raises and we need to go top up. Between 95 and 98, price diff is not exorbitant till need to sell kidney. [Body parts or Loan Money] I may not spend the time to calculate for 95 or 98 is better in terms of efficiency. [Although I appreciate the thought of suggestion how to calculate] Besides, higher RON is always encouraged by AD Sales and Car Enthusiast. [I assume] Overall, I say go with whatever petrol you are comfortable with paying. [95 or 98] Efficient or not, personal preference or not. We will need to scrap car at 10years. LOL Just a penny of my thoughts, I apologise if I may have directly or indirectly hurt anyone with my thoughts. Cheers. ↡ Advertisement
