Knowing the margin is just another consideration. Ultimately, the final decision depends on how much the buyer values each factor. For me, knowing the margin at least I can decide if I can accept it, better to know before buying and than regret later. Also, it lets me know that if the margin is high/similar/low when compare to similar cars and let me see if there is any room for negotiation. Unlike many of the things we buy, car price structure is highly transparent so it allows buyers to check and make comparisons. Yes you are right bro! It's to know and decide if it's worth it to buy. And all these are fairly transparent especially if comparing 2 models between the same AD. ↡ Advertisement
firefly20 3rd Gear October 16, 2020 Share October 16, 2020 I'm pleasantly surprised to be getting mileage of 10.5km/l for the new car - that's 10% more than my previous S60 even during CB. I know this figure may not seem like a lot to some pple, but considering that this car is 1.6 ton, I tot it's good. And I tend to be heavy footed. Anyone happy/unhappy with their mileage? I guess the T5 would be less fuel efficient, it being 4WD.

There's a lightly used one on sale at 229K. July 2020 registered with less than 5k mileage. it depends on what you are looking out for in a car. if you are expecting c43 or m340 kind of standards, this is not the right car. it gives you comfort while having handling confidence, good FC (provided you can charge your car regularly). More importantly, at city driving its very refined when driving in electric mode. when needed, the high power will be useful for some quick overtaking. Estrangable 5th Gear October 20, 2020 Share October 20, 2020 that is a pretty decent FC.... my S90 can only hit 9.9l/100KM... and that is with econ mode on all the time.

We can't switch the settings right? Can't switch to show xxkm/l? I actually like the coasting during econ mode. I find it fun and challenging to drive as efficiently as possible
jammer_sg 1st Gear October 20, 2020 Share October 20, 2020 (edited) I’m getting about 8.5L/100Km or around 11.5Km/L (80% expressway 20% normal road). I have been trying out the Econ mode only on expressways. The coasting is good but ai, traffic too heavy to maximise it. Screen shot shows the FC by per Km, last 7km or so was on the expressway. (2020 S60T4) Wow, I think you are good. 8.5L/100KM based on 8.5K KM of driving? That's quite good and accurate then since your data is for 8.5K KM. What petrol you used? I manage to hit 7.3L/100KM once but that only based on about 50KM of driving and also maybe 80% expressway. But on my 2nd tank of fuel now only manage 10.5L/100KM with 1/4 used up. The way I drive, 95 gives me better mileage vs 98 to date. On occasions when I do more normal road driving or short trips it drops to 10.5 Km/L from 11.5 Km/L. The difference can really that pronounced.

(2020 S60T4) that is very good! If it's not too inconvenient, are you able to click on preferences and show the intervals in 100km instead? So that it has lesser fluctuations. jammer_sg 1st Gear October 21, 2020 Share October 21, 2020 (edited) Based on per 1 Km. The first 7 bars were evening traffic on the PIE and BKE. Next 2 bars were within the estate. The last bar was because of spinning around the multi story carpark for a lot. Those near or below 5 bars should be coasting Edited October 21, 2020 by jammer_sg

jammer_sg 1st Gear October 21, 2020 Share October 21, 2020 Based on per 100Km. Still trying to be more efficient by going below that current average green line. Interesting to see the reading by per 1 Km to see the near instant FC. If traffic permits the car can really glide on idle for a very long time. Keep 3-4 car length from the traffic in front during coasting. Shift to manual to re-engage the flywheel for some engine brake if required for separation then back to auto for it to resume coasting. From BKE down ramp joining PIE to Eng Neo exit I can manage coasting 60-70% of the time lol.
