brazil laughing..

Brazilian soy farmers have seen opportunity – and fortunes – in the pains of their American counterparts. Farmers in Brazil’s countryside are swapping crops like sugar cane for soy, hoping to cash in and put Brazilian soy on Chinese dinner tables. And this bet is already paying big dividends.

Brazilian soybean exports to China rose to nearly 36 million tons in the first half of 2018, up 6 per cent from a year ago, according to Reuters. In July alone, they surged 46 per cent from the same month a year earlier.

In just two years, farmland used to grow soy exploded by 5 million acres in Brazil. Trump’s trade war is literally changing the global trade landscape – a trend will only be exacerbated when new tariffs go into effect on Thursday. And Brazilian farmers aren’t the only competitors reaping the rewards.

It looks like Trump has found the next big target in his trade war — Japan

https://www.businessinsider.sg/trump-trade-war-japan-tariffs-on-cars-2018-9/?r=US&IR=T

  • President Donald Trump is reportedly set to involve Japan in his trade war, saying he will make the world’s third-largest economy “pay.”
  • According to a report from the Wall Street Journal late on Thursday, Trump indicated to reporter James Freeman that he is ready and willing to hit Japan with tariffs.
  • Japan imported over $40 billion of cars into the US last year.
  • The report comes as the US prepares to impose fresh tariffs on up to $200 billion of Chinese goods.

I am waiting for Aud to drop some more... Maybe nearer to 0.90 then go in....

Now, is 0.980.

Is there any reason for AUD to drop much further?

Trade war Trump and China

SGP would also be the casualty of the trade war.

While AUD weakens, SGD may also not be able to sustain its strength in the long run. I am more of the opinion that it would hover around 1.0.

AUD has resources while SGP has none to back its economy and currency.
