Hi All. Does anyone know if the 318i M Sport uses the m-sport suspension or does it share the same suspension as the normal 318i?

Is the audio system in the m sport version a lot better?

Mspt use the mspt susp which is stiffer and lower by 1cm. Adaptive mspt susp is better but only in m340

audio should be the same.

Hi all, my 318i still shrieks!!! Sent car back to Eurokars 3 times and they dunno what's wrong.  Not the brakes/wheels as even when the car is stopped, the shrieking sound happens.

Eurokars suspected AC expansion valve and replaced it but didn't;t solve the issue.  Anyone experienced, heard, seen, this before?  help .....

The car is new and bought in Aug 2024 ...

This is unacceptable, never encounter something like this on my pre-LCI model, 2022. Can update on how they handle this issue?

Indeed!  Eurokars kept saying they don't know what's wrong and needs to defer to BMW Asia.  They agreed to look at the problem for a longer period so sending the car in for "further analysis" in mid Apr.  It only happens at low speed and when the car is stopped.

Hopefully. EK said they’ll try …do you think I should go outside and ask other workshops? Does this impact my warranty? Make a fuss in social media?

Go outside and assess what’s the problem. Nudge EK towards that direction.

REM to pay Outside WS for the assessment.

I am facing the same problem now also on a 2021 model. It happens for a few seconds after the engine is shut off, including when auto start stop kicks in as shown in your first video stopping at a traffic light. Suspect it has to do with ambient and aircon temperature. The sound seems to be louder and longer during a hot day or when the aircon temperature is set to very low.

Did this just happen or you’ve had this for a few years now?

@waihoong2001 Had it happen once years ago during ASS so I turned ASS off and it was fine. Recently fixed an evaporator leak at eurokars and the car came back with this noise when I turned off the engine. I am currently in a process of trying different aircon settings and driving durations to see if it can be replicated reliably.

Is the noise happening to you consistently? ASS and engine off, as well as across a range of aircon settings?

oh, I have been turning off ASS, so it's happening less now.  These few days, not happening maybe cooler weather as you've mentioned.  When it happened:

1. ASS on

2. AC Auto, temp at 22 degrees

3. Comfort / Eco Pro mode

@waihoong2001 Yes I also have not been hearing any noise in this cooler weather. Have you only changed the aircon expansion valve so far? That was also what I read as a possible fix in one of the bimmerpost forum posts. Has to be something else since it did not fix the problem for you.

I also have dug the internet for some possible solutions. First link says it is PCV valve while second link says it is fuel pump. Maybe you can direct eurokars to these too.

Fellow G20 owners, 2nd qns

1. would like to check what is your servicing intervals? Still waiting for first servicing and just hit 10k. Car says servicing due in 3.4k. Not used to having servicing intervals more than 10k (previous cars were Jap).

2. Is the air flow from the driver side aircon vent weaker than the 2 central ones?

Thanks and wishing all a good Sunday

@Icecube187 i am at 8.1k km, the car is telling me servicing in 2.3k km. Bmw has Condition based servicing so the car will tell adjust the notification based on your usage but originally when I receive the car, first servicing was set at 12k km.

Driver side air vent does feel a little less powerful than central.

@gg20 thank you for sharing. Yes, when I collected also set at 12k but I drive primarily on expressways, hence maybe that's why servicing trigger has now become almost 13.5k.

These are indeed valuable info!!!  Also, the sound did happen on hot days!  When rain heavy, no sound.  My slot with EK end of the month so will give them all this info.  Thanks @boonn
