Maybe few workers worked on it but still don’t understand why must change condenser when only cooling coil spoilt…

4 hrs on condenser is doable with one pair of hands...but cooling coil definitely would need more time...even with 2 pairs...

Same logic as front brakes are worn must change the back also for safety. These are good local workshop practices. They care for the customer. 🤣

Depend alot on the mechanic.

Those skilled and experience mechanic can replace a harrier cooling coil in 4 hrs. Its quite normal. Kia also like toyota alot of work.

Wow! In 4 hrs...simi chia lai ay...🤔

nissan xtrail...

they actually did it in 3 hr...

and i think i know why. they have so many workers at the (2) workshops. i was shocked...

<out of syllabus>
when i went collect car after work, it was raining heavily. i think the technicians all stuck cannot go off, so stuck around. got at least 2 of them taking umbrellas standby, will come out and bring customers from taxis/cars to go inside their workshop to collect cars... i had my own, but saw the guy in taxi in front of me being 'brollied' in... good customer service...

both L&Kim and Edwin said very common for cooling coil of xtrail/qashqai to leak around 6-7 yr... and nothing to do with mileage (mine only 45k) just my luck...

and Edwin said their experience is very common for condenser to leak around same time also, as it's same aluminium part... likely from same source...

i not v familiar/sure, but dread going back in (near) future, so do lor...

same with subaru forester. aircon always leak and typically after 2-3years even after replacement. some japanese cars are not what they used to be. for me only Toyota and Honda still pretty good.

Neutral Newbie

My car's aircon blew hot air. Took it to a mechanic and after a 5min check, told me I needed to change the whole thing and quoted $1200. I topped the air con gas just in case, it was not the real big issue. It lasted me only 1 day. With the adhoc rainy weather, I could not take any chance of driving it window down. I only have another 1 year before my COE expires so I googled online and decided to get a 2nd or 3rd opinion. Eventually i took my car to Ubi Rd 3 L & Kim Car Air-conditioning (Block 3023A, Ubi Ave 1, #01-62). A mechanic checked not just under the bonnet but also at below the compartment infront of the passenger seat. He showed me where the leak was. His boss (Mr Kim) quoted me $480. I didn't bother checking any further. Left the car there at 945am and collected it at 330pm on the same day. Very efficient & knowledgeable. He changed the Cooling coil and expansion valve. When I drove it back, air con was working perfectly good.
