Car air-con

I went ahead to do the repair at Brocade, send in 10am ready next day same time. There's a lot of work involved to remove the dashboard and surrounding areas, I also went back after lunch to help them dismantle the cables for the TV tuner, subwoofer, ambient LEDs that I installed myself. If I had to do this myself it will take days, and they do different cars at same time and can fix back everything nicely. Since I also dismantle the dash and wirings such as adding USB sockets and TPMS, I can tell how well the fixing is. And they are also honest to tell me they couldn't get the headunit steering control to work properly, I taught them how to fix the problem lol.

So far no issue, and my rear aircon duct is powerful again like day one. Coil has 1 year warranty.

One thing important also, the workshop is neat and clean, especially important when do interior teardown. I see the staff will regularly sweep the floor and clean the tools, something you don't often see.

Old thread but interesting, the name sounds like a network equipment provider

My turn to have problem with aircon...

The past month, when first on aircon, got one bad smell that is like wire/electrical burning type smell... but will not be so obvious after like 10 sec... wife initially said nothing wrong, but i knew sure got problem already.

went to my servicing workshop, the boss said not obvious, and if aircon still cold - which it was - then just monitor first, as it will take one whole day to dismantle the dash and labour will be ex...

aircon got worse bit by bit, and just now went to L & Kim during lunch time to check. The tech (ah hao i think) after checking, said gas has leaked, aircon no longer cold, and cooling coil got leak liao... need to replace cooling coil and it is a full-day job that will cost $860...

now to arrange a time to do it...

didn't know cooling coil now so ex... maybe 10 yr ago for a previous car, i had cooling coil replacement done at Tomika before, and i think it was like ~$400-500...

Then why don’t go back Tomika and ask them quote too? It’s along the same row as Kim.

Give New Luck Aircon at kaki bukit a try too.

See which one you are comfortable with. The difference most $30 to $50.

It is the labour and operating cost that is expensive, profit margin also have to go up over time.

Since you asked -

RMB btw. OK it's not for 5 piece set though. If that makes him feel better.

PS I actually bought cheaper from Amazon. Still in the car.

Surprisingly I have never changed AC coil before except on a E46. But than that's BMW it was normal to fail at low mileage.
