Hi, if the people of North Korea are starving or living under oppression. Then it is sad. They are on their own, cut off from the rest of the world.

this is very hard to judge.

Already affecting China with the quakes. Sooner or later, China is going to be irritated if DPRK is not going to stop its nuclear tests.

I was overlooking Sinuiju, NK from Dandong, China.

Daytime, no activily.

Nightime, dark dark.  Whereby all the shops in Dandong was brightly lit.

Further north is China.

Politics and war games aside...anyone thought of the millions of N Koreans believing Kim is God? You don't know what you don't know, ignorance may be bliss...but, really? How are you really, the man on the street N Koreans...are you living in fear? Oppressed? Can some Intel..please shed some light.

Do remember the country has live in this state for many years. The system does not permits the people to counter the ruling party. Any major revoke will have to come from within the party. This will happen when the situation is really bad and people are suffering like what you see in many civil war torn countries around the world. So, the immediate answer to you question, no NK is nowhere near what USA has been selling the world.

However, will this young Kim hold on to power for long, I don't think he will. I have no basis of saying this but usually, it will never cross the 3rd generation. [shocked]

But then again neither NK or its citizens should be considered 'usual' leh.

They have a population that is largely accepting of their fate, and those in power rule with an iron fist... Unless something totally shocking happens, they might just hang around for ever...

If the NK citzens are happy, why thrn are outsiders so interested to change them? If the majority are not happy, no need for 3rd parties to intervene for changes right?

The question is does the average NK citizens know any different? Are they even aware of what's going on? If they are, they also won't risk doing anything...

So, there will be no civil war, because they don't have this concept. To them, Kim is God. Kim bless you..

One obvious indication by an aerial night view comparing North Korea to neighbouring countries.

Technological progress is a proxy for happiness?

One day aliens will come to our planet and conclude that we need to be liberated because we don't have faster than light spaceships or because we still run on fossil fuels.

Anyway, is it possible that they don't turn on the lights because they are trying to save energy (because they don't have oil and are reliant on him and Russia)?
