15" rims are typically lighter. This will definitely help in the numbers when homologation is done. It seems like Avante still has a better feature set.

15" rims for a mid sedan i find a bit too small. At least must be 16" rims, the ride is better.

It can be that with 16” it will not be classified as A2.
audi has equipped their A4 previous with 16” to make sure it gets One band lower.

Yeah I would imagine 15" is how they could get VES Band A2.

SX seems to be the model to go for considering it is priced at $139k, same as base Avante.

Yea, 16" will look better and provide a better ride.

Anyway, rims can be upgraded/fitted locally after the homologation. So yea, this might be the reason why they chose to stick with 15" as standard.

Looks like 2 features, Electric Parking Brake and Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go previously available in non-Smartstream GT-Line is no longer available in the Smartstream SX.

Did yall know that there are interior and Infotainment system differences between different EXs? I found out that my EX (received 2018 Nov) and my friend's EX (received early 2019) the USB/AUX/Socket location and HUD system program and buttons are different.

We both bought from the same place, just receive the car a few month apart.

I couldnt find any reference online mentioning why it would be different, but my infotainment software is much less aesthetic and useful compared to his. I tried asking C&C to upgrade it but i dont think they can, the previous time i tried to ask, the person say updated to latest firmware, yet still very much different from my friend's one.

I knew the HUD firmware looked different but my friend and i only just found out our interior is different when we compare side by side.

Specs are out, Smartstream models looks to be downgrade feature wise compared to previous non-Smartstream. Smartstream EX seems to mirror specs of previous base L model and Smartstream SX seem to fall in between previous EX & GT-Line models, shockingly SX also come with 15-inch rims.

Not sure why C&C is doing this, thought being in Band A2 means they can at least keep the features intact or add more, judging from this, they will just drive more buyers to the much better speced Avante.

Same sentiments. I prefer the previous edition before the smartstream one.

They can keep all the previous specs but who would buy the car if it costs $150,000 now? Everything is more expensive this year compared to last year plus the increase in 8% GST (which is highly significant), to keep the pricing palatable it's inevitable they had to downgrade the specs...

The two cars can be just a few months apart but if that difference is between a face-lifted model and the previous iteration, it could mean significant changes... or it could simply be the third part supplier for the aftermarket HUD changed cos C&C got a better unit for the same cost...

Anyone with issues using Carplay with facelifted Cerato? The infotainment system android process keeps crashing, sometimes I need to hard reset while driving.

@yonghf Need to see if the cable you are using is the phone original type. Carplay and Andriod Auto are very sensitive to data rate and many charging cables cannot support the data rate that they require. I took some experimentation before coming across a suitable cable.

@Algergohce Do you mind sharing which cable you ended up using? We have tried 2 original cables from Apple (bought from Apple Store SG) and the issue persist. Honestly the issue started happening once we switched to the latest iPhones (14 Pro / Pro Max). Previously we had no issues on iPhone 11 and 12 Pro Max.

@yonghf The original apple cables are USB-C to Lightning? Cos the car socket is USB A. Just to check if you use an adaptpr cable or adaptor connector? These may also affect the connection.

I am currently using KyeBriq, essentially an android box permanently connected to the car, using a Baseus data cable. That enabled wireless Android Auto and Carplay for me. This setup works reliably for me currently. Alternatively, can search for high speed data cables (USB A to Lightning).

Alternatively, if really cannot, need further diagnosis, like phone settings, etc..

@Algergohce USB-A to Lightning, not using any adapter. Thanks for sharing KyeBriq I'll check that out if all else fails. I'm heading down to C&C to have them check this Friday, fingers crossed!
