"Drove the 'Elite' model and till now almost 1 year, clocked around 18k kms, still the drive is good as new. The engine is very quiet when idling, sometimes I even forget that the engine is still on and I tried to leave the vehicle after parking. The engine is not bad, very good at overtaking, but not so good at pick up"

Above also wrote FC at 10-11 km/l.

So if new k3 uses same engine, maybe getting 11-12 km/l is good. In exchange for quiet stable engine.

A bit different bro, this is with out any free service.....

78999 in sgcarmart come with 5 yr service if 1 yr service ==> 75999...

for this offer mean -4k by compromising 1 yr service [~$500] ==> save $3500

Maybe buy 4 years (20k per year) SVC package at $2k similar to Kia's?

Then only pay $71,999 + $2,000.

In April/Jun 18, 2nd Gen k3 "L" was going for $77,999 (final price) with only free Infosys & leather upgrade.

But only black or white colour left.

EOL has its own challenges.

"Blue bag, blue folder, umbrella, car wash liquid & glass cleaning liquid in a shoe bag, 2 x car key pouch, cash card with $10 value."

Recent new Elantra owners collect their car were given the above.

Kia have or not?

Some will change the bulb colour to white so as to better match the white DRL LEDs. Its not a must and in fact i think the yellow bulbs are brighter. But in SG the roads are pretty bright already. Got some monkeys even drive without their lights on at night.

something like teeth :D

you see those american media people they must have white porcelain colour teeth.

these few days have been noting white/yellowish light.

those white ones are harsh to motorist eyes.  try not to change to those , haha

Just a thought I have to myself,

Since the Cerato have the rear signal lights placed on the bottom(bumper), will it be more prone to damage when someone rear ends you?

And that means, changing a bumper now will be more expensive as it consists of the light components?

Hmm...rear end damaged, covered by insurance, right?

We have to get from AIG when get car...

reversed my previous car into hdb pillar that caused a knock at the rear side.

no workshop would do it for less than $400, to knock back and paint.

if the kia bumper is damaged owner may not want insurance to pay, as it will affect ncd.

for b&b 1.6 car, I guess to change a new bumper would be around $600.00

for this Kia with 2 extra signal lights, I would guess add anything $250 upwards?

You have a point there since bumper is always more prone to damage, even when we reverse our car, the bumper might also hit onto something. Lol.

"The 2011 to 2014 Kia Optima and Sorento as well as the Hyundai Sonata and Santa Fe were already included in NHTSA’s petition for an investigation."

US regulator hasn't investigate yet while Kia & Hyundai did recall over a million cars on other issue.

Kia recall for engine wear problem:

"The engines in some Kia vehicles could have debris in them that puts operators at risk. A new late March recall attempts to fix this through a campaign. The action includes more than six hundred and eighteen thousand vehicles, with affected model years ranging from 2011 to 2014.

Official documents said that the issue could lead to a bearing rod in affected engines failing, leading the vehicle to stall entirely and sometimes creating a noticeable knocking noise. Prior to this, owners could see warning lights, specifically those for engine or oil pressure issues."

Good to know while gen2 forte has no report of problem.

Not easy to sell in USA.

Better to enquire on aig/CnC car insurance coverage on car and people for better protection.

This is really old news lar bro... this affects US market Kia vehicles but the factory for those affected vehicles are meant only for the North American market... our cars come from the Korean factory... so we're not affected... and in this case, it's a precautionary recall... only certain batches were affected by metallic debris in the engine that was not detected at manufacture...
