PSP415 Supersonic September 6, 2021 Share September 6, 2021 Have you tried applying for this role which was posted 16 days/1 month ago? 1 month ago - 16 days ago - Probably the 1 year experience as Service Advisor in automotive industry or 5 years of experience as an automotive mechanic might be that hurdle as you seem to have the qualifications iirc. How do you plan on overcoming this requirement in your cover letter or CV? You are not that old and you have time unless you have a secret terminal illness not shared (*touch wood. I am citing an example of how anxiety will look like, not cursing you ya.) Stay safe Cheers

Not only calls but also troubleshooting certain engine problems which requires hearing in some cases which i cant hear. I did apply before, when i first graduated and didnt know where i could fit , but was rejected. I believe it's part of the TCIL group of which TC is one of them. Worth starting from here and find your way to fulfilling your dream one day. You need to word your resume to have important key words to fit in with requirements in the JD. Pls revamp your resume if not done so. Dun take short cuts ya. Hmm im not very sure abt this as i did apply and made it to the interview stage before, for this position but was unsuccessful too. Its largely a client facing sales role, need to talk face to face or make calls, maybe it might hve been possible before covid, but it's kind of hard now with the mask regs. Has been my dream since then to work in e automotive ind since then and to hopefully work with Nissan cars one day, if possible i also appreciate where i am now currently in my job. Yes It might sound kind of obessive of sorts and im not sure hw to explain but is kind of like a personal career or life goal for me? Something Like dont hve much time left and dont want to regret later on in life that i never managed to do so, and letting all the years of work and $ spent(education) i done so far all go to waste. Hmm i didnt get much feedback regarding my rejections but i think has to do with my hearing loss condition which can hinder in many ways, such as calls and troubleshooting by ear in some cases. Hence i've been trying to apply for related roles that doesnt need to rely on it that much such as warehouse or spare parts, hence am currently working hard to gain experience (start frm bottom, working hard and improving myself through forklift license etc). My main worry is that im close to 30s with little experience to show for as i started out late in addition to not much time left (ageism and lack of exp?) I understand the concerns you raised and hope this explanation helps. Expand It's also been my dream to work for ExxonMobil and Shell since the day i was born into this world. So much so i excelled in chemistry in school and studied Chemical Engineering. But i realized i was not cut out for it as it was more Physics than Chemistry. However, i never give up. I still applied for any jobs in ExxonMobil and Shell, ranging from cleaner to director. Till now, 15 years have passed and I am proud to say that my dream has yet to been fulfilled. However, i am glad that I did not manage to join them. If not, i could be one of those getting the axe. Now, i support my dream companies by alternating between their petrol stations. Of course, engaged in a job which can sustain and feed my family. That is more important than anything else. My whole point is, there are more important things in life than trying to get into the dream company that you have been eyeing. If they do not select you, move on. It just means you are not suitable. Go somewhere that you will be valued. Do not waste time. Edited September 7, 2021 by Sunset73

I suggest you should work on getting to know what your dream job is and what it takes to get there (work on what is needed) plus networking. During this period, you need to give in order to take. I have several jobs in between. Maybe it was luck and maybe you may say this is 马后炮。But looking back. It happen well on me, I have never stop learning. I did not go find my job after the first one. The rest are all offered to me. During one of the job introduced by my ex-boss to his customer which they need someone to resolve their issue. Knowing what they need. I went in for the interview and told the interviewer. If you buy a piece of land, build the factory. How to build and construct, how to renovate. Hire whatever team to produce the products and set up whatever system. I can handle and lead the team and handle it confidently. Of cos I was also ask about the details and then hired. I was given 3 months to join the team and resolve those issues. I did it. Somethings can be told but not teach. Today I am hired as a "Professional Executive and Leader" where the bosses just throw you there. It takes you to understand cos only you know what you want. I am sorry if I push on your pain points. I can only encourage you not to lose heart and perhaps wait for an opportunity where all sales can be done online and/or the company is prepared to let you buddy with another staff whereby the phone taking part can be sorted out. It is challenging and labour market is actually starting to open up again. If you can be honest with yourself, think about the answers you can give when the question on how you can overcome your setback. You will be asked. If the JD is very clear on what is required of applicants, it will be not be very reasonable to expect special concessions, just for you, if u understand what I mean. Rather, convince the interviewer/recruiting manager you are able to do the tasks, perhaps, you need 1 step more to accomplish it than usual. What is that extra step?
