Opel quotes 9.6 litre per km. Not good but still tolerable I guess. Bearing in mind it's a 2.0-litre turbo engine.

city or urbal.. or 50/50.. the local traffic condition always make the car drink more....

anyway, power = fuel = more $$$

At 9.6km/litre, it would be a mere dream ! A car that size and weight + 245 tires + 6 speed auto ain't gonna be good news for fuel consumption. I would expect it to give 8km/litre ( i.e. 12 litre/100 ) in an ideal condition, i.e. 50/50 highway/city ! This is a hulk of a car ! Cruising up NSH would probably do more probably be 12 km/litre thereabout ! Anyway, folks who buy such cars don't give a 5hit about FC !

Much said, this is one sure winner for Opel ! Luv the interior feel and all the super gadgets apart from the very very basic HU which does not do justice to this excellent car !

I would think that the new Astra-J would be a real winner as well ! Heard from the SM that it would come as a 1.4/1.6 Turbo MT/AT hatch ! I am a Hatch Lover !

Hi,

Any idea if the Insignia Tourer version will bee brought in to SGP?

The OPC version looks nice!

No, the Tourer would not find it way here according to the SM ! No demand for wagons....if any, the numbers cannot do justice to support this variant for 10 years ! This variant also weigh an extra TON so, the FC is going even further down South !

grrrrrrr.............

Those FC label they put on the car all crap on lah. The Astra they put like 13.8km/L right? I only doing 10.5km/L.

Now with this 9.8L/100km, I would more or less expect about 12L/km.... But I am doing worst... Maybe like what Sony said, need to loosen up on my right feet.

Mod? The only thing on my mind now is my ICE. Need to get all my amps, speakers and my iPod all hooked up... Which is getting kind atricky considering what AE told me on how to take out the HU. Damn... why do they make it so difficult?!?!?!

It will loosen up as well, so dont worry too much about it. Do you use 98RON? I get better FC with 98RON, negates the extra cost over 95.

ICE, only did it 1 year+ after i got my car so..

Anyone here interested in a 6 speed manual tranny OPC version Insignia in Blue for about S$185K ?

Guess not [cool] !

No, the OPC Insignia would also not make it to our shores. Look what happen to the Corsa OPC when they brought them in.... Lelong Lelong Lelong at the end to clear the stock !

With such a beast hiding under hood, you want loosen up your feet ? Why ? Why worry about fuel consumption ?

The FC label is based on a ECE testing method and certified by the EC. That is done in an ideal condition...i.e. cool climate, no a/c load, no passenger load, no head wind, no heavy traffic, no high humidity....etc.

I guess if you can get 8km/litre, it should be okay for such a beast ! What's more, going easy with 220hp on tap is a very very difficult task. I am talking from experience...still trying to tame the right foot of mine [laugh]

Oh...talking about mod, SUPERCHIPS UK have a upgrade chip to boost it up to 265 HP/421Nm ! Only problem is, the DIY Bluefin is currently not available...have to drive your Insignia to a Superchip dealer to chip up !

No, it is 2008 ! In 2009, it was already selling very well in Europe but the dealer did not bring it in dunno for what reason and missed the boat when COE was so low....

When I was talking to the Opel people over the weekend, they said the reason for the delay was because they were negotiating with Opel in Germany to bring the OMV down.

Anyway most mainstream European cars also take quite a while to make it here.

Ah...careful with your right feet, I have heard of 3 DSG failures already... total transmission change. Sad. [:(]

Yes, know about Superchip, and BlueFin. Don't see a need to at this point.
