Remember not too long ago our dearest transport minister said that $$$ is needed for improving reliability? Now, give it a serious thoughts... :D The Straits Times understands that trains were unable to change tracks because of the fault, and the change-over had to be done manually. We are becoming like a 3rd world country, have to change track manually... If we did that here then there'd be a massive 'method statement' and it would require not only more men but a crane as well because those rails are light but MRT rails weigh 60 kg per meter length. Not only that but when gang arrives at place for switch change then they'd find they'd forgotten to bring 'Method Statement' with them and have to return to the depot. Also heavy rain would mean difficulties doing work and 'Method Statement' would turn to mush in hand because of rain water.

New train put into the service and within hours, had to be sent back to depot due to intermittent faults!! :XD:New MRT trains with tip-up seats now in serviceST understands that two new C151C trains were put into service on Sunday. That morning, one of the new trains experienced intermittent signalling faults. One of the 2 new Kawasaki Heavy Industries & CRRC Qingdao Sifang #C151C trainset, broke down earlier on due to mechanical problems in the train. Watwheels Supersonic October 1, 2018 Share October 1, 2018 Imo they should intro the tip up seats later when the train services improved significantly. Not now when there are still delays...meaning more ppl have to stand longer whenever there's a delay. It will only add to commuters' frustrations and make them more angry. Aiya, no point wasting my breath when our leaders do not even take the trains.
