Sosaria Twincharged August 19, 2018 Share August 19, 2018 (edited) When assessing my subordinates I always try to look at the good side of people. Yes, they may commit an occasional screw-up or did not do a job up to my standards. But they would have other strengths that I can call upon when the situation requires. In fact, some of my guys are better than me in certain areas of soft skill, so I always focus on their good side. I am only put in charge for my experience, judgement and decision making skills plus the network to get things done efficiently. Not because I am super in every aspect. Great, but please do remember to evaluate staff base on individual not peers. many bosses reward staff differently and expect same result. just always reflect yourself to be that staff, if you are treated similarly, will you deliver? This is true, but ultimately HR always compares same level staff across department and job function when fixing appraisal grades. So not easy to be "fair". Edited August 19, 2018 by Sosaria ↡ Advertisement

Not easy for bosses to look at other strength of people. What they see is your weakness, screw-up and mistakes that you have made. Even you have done 10 mistakes free work, but committed 1-2 mistakes, to bosses you still did not do a job up to standards.

Carbon82 Moderator November 16, 2018 Share November 16, 2018 To be fair, DK took over a rotten company from Saw (with practically zero maintenance regime in place), and following many corrective actions and upgrading (with heavy financial support from Government), things started to stabilize (not improve hor) in the last 2 years. Now that most of the replacement and upgrades have been completed, this Neo took over and started saying 风凉话... I am not say who is / was good, but situation was different during the time when DK & Neo took over SMRT, so to say that there is no problem in the company, 话还是不要说得太绝... ↡ Advertisement
