Optramagnum 6th Gear April 15, 2018 Share April 15, 2018 I think changing carpet is more practical and economical. Unless you have other problem like insect infesting or spillage on upholstery, then go for steam cleaning..
Heartlander Turbocharged April 15, 2018 Share April 15, 2018 My recent experience had been with milo, which is worse as stale milo is very smelly. The MOST important thing to do from my experience had been to treat the source of bad small - the soaked carpet under the mat. No point spending hundreds of dollars on aircon cleaning when the source is still there. You should use clean wet cloth to soak up all the excess bubble tea at the seat rails and mat and carpet. Take out and wash if possible and dry under hot sun. The other solutions like baking soda water overnight and strong refresheners can come in after that. I changed the aircon filter no use. Put pandan leave also no use, think because the source is still there. In fact it is tedious work to remove the dirty water. You will be surprise the carpet still wet and smelly even sfter 3 days if nothing done to dab or wash it away. If you clean up the source properly, it will take another few days to get rid of majority of the smell. Really lots of work. From then in you will surely bar everyone from drinking in your car haha.

Lala81 Hypersonic April 15, 2018 Share April 15, 2018 (edited) i would spray the carpet with bleach mixed with water then blow dry with fan constantly and put on top floor of MSCP if possible. Also can try copious amount of baking soda onto it. i think beats any steam cleaning or what. Edited April 15, 2018 by Lala81

Dany321 Neutral Newbie April 23, 2018 Share April 23, 2018 Use warm water with a mixture of vinegar and baking soda... Let is soak and scrub it... Then vacuum the baking soda off the carpet. Test in a small area first as to make sure you don't discolour the carpet.
Carol648 Neutral Newbie October 22, 2019 Share October 22, 2019 Baking soda is great to get rid of the smell for now, but you probably need to find a good long time fix. I used Airvidox Odour Remover in my car when I had a similar lingering smell. It's really good and get rid of the smell long term. ↡ Advertisement
