Similar to Toyota/BM, Merc sells by itself.

I try not to have the dealership affect the brands of car I like. It’s hard sometimes. Love the car, hate the dealer! Haha

Really depends. For the SE part, I got really good experience with Citroen. The same cannot be said of Kia. Just walk into the Kia showroom the other day and the sales man kind of dog look people down. Instead of asking what I need, he straight away asked if I want to look at K3 and want to intro the lowest specs K3 to me. A good SE should understand what the customer need and want before recommending the model and not straight away recommend what he think is best (maybe highest commission) for the customer base on his outlook/outfit.

So just like the sales person seizes you up and gives you attitude. You can do Likewise and not give the business to the sales person you don’t like or feel worthy of your comission. Not being arrogant here, but if on the onset you get such a condescending attitude. Why should one bother to spend your hard earn money giving that sales person a comission which you feel they do not deserve. I know I have written off one sales woman from KIA!

No customers have to put up with attitude people. There are at least a dozen sales people to choose from .

When the brand sells by itself, what customer service to speak of? Only those exceptional ones will care. After a few years, those exceptional ones will move on to sell luxury makes

Wow. Quite surprising to hear more KIA horror stories.

Up till now, despite emailing Cycle and Carriage HQ, nobody except the “top” KIA manager from Fulco called me.

I doubt the top senior management bothers about this thread enough to give me a call to settle things amicably. I am sure they have wasted a good opportunity here.

I guess they think KIA cars sell themselves. Can’t blame their complacency, indeed KIA cars are worth every penny.

Kia K3 is worth every penny, until you see the freaking spec sheet VS Hyundai Elantra.

For less than 2k more, you get map lights, leather seats, touchscreen 8'inch,painted handles and mirrors,6 airbags+TC etc.

None found on 'L' K3.

Worse of all,it's an old model!

They think they can sell a stripped down old model for 2k less and people will bite? Fat hope, unless they change their name to 'Toyota'.

Ok ...good things:feel more comfortable than Elantra.

And their attitude stinks.Worse than MI-at least they just don't care about you,but they deliver on time,Service is fine.

So no,I think more people are buying its sister brand after horror stories and value for money.

My 2 pence. Its the truth, but to not hurt anyone

would like to add, that C&C indeed does "suck".

when i was looking at the e-class to replace my GTR, I asked a few questions too many it seems, as the SE told me off (exact words) was, "if you dont want to buy a mercedes no problem, I have a long line of customer ready to buy". (basket, i ask a few questions also kena)

the main issue I had with this line was that my dad has been buying benz's for 20 years (at least 5 or 6 already) and this is the way they treat customers. anyway, lucky for me, i put the SE on speakerphone, my dad overhead, and also gave up on C&C ... both of us have sworn off C&C cars. and this thread further highlights the deterioration of the brand.

i also dont see why this thread can't remain. its not right that our opinions get deleted.

(however, shoutout to my man Melvyn at Tan Chong for making my car ownership the best ever and being the best, most straightforward, honest, awesome SE ever. )

Yes, a lot of people think C&C merc treats people well but I find their after sale service really attitude (most of them). I got treated much better at Komoco.

For e.g, they say they will do 1, 2 and 3 for servicing. When I collect the car after leaving there for 2 days, they say "We didn't do 3. We not enough time. Book again".

Another time they returned my car key after servicing by leaving it on the car seat and asking me pick it up myself. Once, all the dirty floor papers were left in the car after servicing.

Worst is they pretend to be polite doing all these things.

Wah, I feel like....my blood pressure....

I was tortured for about 3+ years and swear never to get any C&C car again. Luckily I am back at Komoco.

I ever encountered this Merc sales chap. I asked him if white interior was available. He said no, we don't have white at all. I told him its the white colour like in the display car. No white, he insisted. I offered to take him to the display car. He told me off "That is not white. It's pearl."

Details are important to them. and that was funny.

I would say objectively that you are right. And I am fine with that. :) because no matter how hard I try, I can’t be angry at people for long and I can’t bang tables to get what I truly deserve from this incident. Unfortunately, it’s just the way I am. Sigh. But thank you for your comment anyway bro. Edited by Fictionaire

when COE drop say 2k, car companies will still maintain old price, but throw in some "extra cheapo accessories" to keep the same price, when COE increases, car companies usually claim they maintain prices but remove certain extras accessories and frills, so it's always consumers who lose out when car companies bid on our behalf. Also, when it's not a pay as you bid system, we often see an "invisible hand " to support the high COE for car companies to play this kinds of tricks. After all we consumers are the one to foot the COE price...us poor consumers, using our hard earn money on a car, paying so much for a 10 yr validity paper , and bloated car prices on top and yet get so little features/frills/safety for the price we pay compared to overseas counter parts, .karma will get to them one day..(.but then again, KIA seems to have more bang for the buck on features and accessories for a similar price level car compared to honda and toyota....)

a few yrs ago, i bought a 4xbox games on amazon, only to find on delivery that our region can't play US games disk. I email them and they replied I should have checked first. But they say they didn't want me to incur extra cost to send back to them, so they refunded me and say keep the disk! This is excellent customer service!

Big business entity (who depends on consumers like us ) should have just given the small fry consumer a "better than good" deal that cost them close to nothing to do damage control, and that would have earn extra point on the PR front for the company instead of parading poorly made decisions for all to see over 350 posts..LOL

Honda... acceptable.

Slowly improving.

Every model has TC, cruise control, touchscreen hu as standard+Bluetooth.

Even the $81999 (effectively $80999 is forfeit 2 yr servicing) Jazz has it!

Seriously,the 1.3 is damn tempting.

Toyota..safety,yes, features not there yet.

Like seriously,I could have taken the money to buy a mz6,why should I buy your base spec 'elegance'?

Even if I bought the Subaru Impreza 2.0/XV/Forester( obviously very tempting to avoid C/C for another few grand Vs Forte SX) would have saved 10k and got more features and power!

Hyundai...as above.Quite tempting too

Unlike the Kia Forte.

As mentioned, the cash cow for C&C is Mercedes. They don’t care much with Kia and Mitsubishi.

I remembered few years back when COE was very high, they simply drop and stop selling 1 brand. I forgot Kia or Mitsubishi.

Mitsubishi. They threw everything to Fulco. Also because that time Mitsubishi happened to not have any car other than Lancer EX, so easy to 'throw'.

Oh well you were talking to an idiot. A good salesman will never be like that. Maybe it’s a sign he “see you no up” and purposely pissing you off so that you will go away and not bother him. Plenty of such sales around. I’ll walk away but I if I like the car, I’ll just find someone else to take the order.
