All these foods is high in iodine right?

So Hyperthyroidism is too much iodine in the body?

Research has shown that some spices can have a positive effect on thyroid health. Turmeric, a popular spice known for its anti-inflammatory properties, may help reduce and manage hyperthyroidism. The same is true for consuming spices like green chili.

I never knew the link but I eat chap fun every day with curry gravy because of the otter benefits of tumeric.

Can also buy tumeric in powder form to add to drinks. Taste terrible but convenient.

Been using fresh tumeric almost everyday religiously for lunch ( cut in thin slices mixed with lime juice) for almost over 2 decades now ……. Oh well maybe it may have inherent benefits like cleansing blood and other things/ benefits  which I may not see directly

Decided to revive an old topic as I just joined the  T Club ........ I've been diagnosed with Hypothyroidism last month

TSH 3.74 (high)

T4 free serum 7.9 (Low)

and bringing my LDL to sudden highs of 3.08  (previously was 2.4 about like 5 months back )

Feel no difference, no nodes on neck , but  stomach bulging out which never ever happened  to me  (maybe eating too much whilst travelling heavily of late ) weight went up by 2 kgs

Fitness level is still same (maybe slightly slower but endurance is similar ) infact climbed /trekked up 2 volcanoes last month  & running almost every 3 days or so with other exercises in between and recreational tennis at times

Doc asked to come back a couple of months and do another test before deciding on the life long medications to take

Take care. Our resident doc’s advice is sound. Better to go for an early appointment and get your thyroxine “vitamin” pills. The headache is trying to calibrate the dose which is dependent on the experience of the doctor.

Just remember to take it first thing in the morning and be consistent. You’ll be fine in no time. Maybe the additional thyroid hormones can boost your marathon time to 2 hrs!! [laugh]
