Teachers at schools and JCs to start paying for parking soon

I wonder why the govt has to take away this privilege for their own staff.

 

Schools are not public carparks where the general public can park.. like MOE HQ.

 

Why charge then?

Exactly, dont know the reason behind what they need to charge? Like this even those companies who have private parking at their own premises should also start to charge parking for their staff? Parking fees of $60 and $90 for cars consider is not cheap lo. About the same as same HDB parking.

One reason could be more and more teachers are driving, school are having challenge in getting sufficient parking lots.   By hurting the teachers pocket, hopefully less teachers will drive to school.

Otherwise, I think the teachers should have this little privileged to have free parking.

they still take up land mah, if dun provide parking lot maybe the school can use the space for another canteen

Could be true, many teachers are driving, if the school compound have limited parking space, then how? But even now they started charging parking fee, if the school really have limited parking space, charging a fee also cannot solve the problem.

If school parking lots still enough for teachers, then no need to get stress la. Now just pay for parking fee only, i believe teacher salary is high enough to afford the $60-80 parking fee per month la. Lol.

Army camp esp for those combat unit, not many cars le. NSF there all dont drive de.

actually the private companies do charge.. they do it by paying for the season parking (credit into salary) .. of course you need to be an asset employee la..and the employee is taxed.. the schools couldpossibly do the same..

You should see naval camp. Not enough parking lots and have to park far far away.
