Your friend mindset a bit childish leh...............

Better don't caused any necessary accident because of his immature and childish behavior and mindset

Did he do similar things when he about to dump or break off with all his ex GF???

Side track a bit, I don't mind to treat your friend to good meal and beer, provided he bring my MIL for a 1 day anyhow ride

I wouldn't say childish unless we have a lot of childish people around. People treat rented cars kind of badly or suddenly become lazier after they tender resignation.....

Same attitude.

But safety is an issue. A hump is there for a reason. Brakes are not meant to be jammed unless it is an emergency and if everything you brake it's an emergency maybe it's better you don't drive....

Humps are used to slow vehicles down to around 15-25km/h, according to google. ð

Some humps do this well but some really overdo it.

hmm... I saw a lot of Mercs and PHV cars drove across hump without slowing down leh...

PHV did it because it is other people's car . Merc did it becuae it is his boss car.

Most of the Merc models are not equipped with airmatic except the higher end or higher spec of some selected models.

For those cars that are lowered. Yes. Dead slow. Even when my car was stock. The hump at bishan Junction 8 was quite front lip unfriendly.

If consistent driving pattern like uber or grab car driver going over humps, you can expect the usual high unexpected wear of engine / gearbox mount completely tear off.

Yes, J8 one is crazy

4 humps before exit

Until a few years ago, I used to ferry my late grandma around once in a while. She was 108 when she passed away. I had ferried her around from the time I got my license some 30 yr ago.

Because she was (very) old, i cultivated a habit of going over humps very slowly, so that it will be least uncomfortable for her. This was esp so as i remember the place she stayed at, had a hump at the carpark exit just after a turn, such that the car is yet to be straightened yet - means 4 tyres take turns to reach the hump and the car will definitely be 'swinging/floating' 4 times when going over it. I remember the first time  after i got my license and i drove her, my mother and an aunt to bring her to the doctor, i went over the humps without braking enough, and my mother reminded me to slow down, as all passengers (and myself too) were like sitting on (4-sided) rocking chair for that moment...

From then on, i would go dead slow when approaching such humps, and most humps for that matter.

Another reason that reinforced that practice, was that during NS, i went through m113 driving course. I just got my class 3 license so it wasn't too bad. One instructors praised me as i knew the importance of braking when going over 'humps'. The course required driving through a gully, which was a series of very steep uneven ground. The instructor singled out a platoon mate who didn't, and told everyone - as a learning point - that the guy's vehicle hit the lower part of the ground so hard that he (the instructor) almost flew out of the m113...

Anyone knows if dashing across hump will spoil anything in the car?

My friend intend to change his car and started to dash across humps, jam brakes, hard acceleration etc. Basically anyhow drive. Then fuel pump start to spoil, then alternator, then one side of lights cannot light up. Hahaha. Is it wear and tear or dashing hump causing all these. Kind of asking for it.

why on earth would you even classify him as your "friend" ?  [hur]

Yeah that’s the exact issue we had (2nd time) the first time it happen the whole car went so Low couldn’t even clear the first hump outside the house lol

I go about 20 - 30 pending on how high it is :D

yoh bro.. its ok for him to Dislike me lah bro.. this is in response to why I kanna dislike on the topic above.

In fact because we are here, regardless of race, language or religion, we should be more tolerant of others of other voices and opinion.

I would even go to the extend of having AWARE to be a more inclusive society where currently they represets LBGT, they should look at the changing demographics at MCF to have LBGT+E for the growing population of eunuch here that have sprouted.
