Dashing across hump

hump has a purpose for us & the vehicle to slow down to prevent injury for us and the vehicle.

Without stopping r slowing down will loosen the bolts & nuts as well as loosening our joints and eventually drop off in the cabin!

And also cause danger to others if the driver do not slow down at humps.

I better go check my fuel pump and alternator. Lol...

I slow down for humps but not to an excruciating tortoise crawl I see very often these day, these drivers assume their cars are held together by a few cable ties. Really slow, if I walk along side, I am actually faster. Ok, it also depends on the hump but generally, modern cars are designed to take some stress from these humps, otherwise how to drive in Malaysia or some dirt roads?

Anyone knows if dashing across hump will spoil anything in the car?

My friend intend to change his car and started to dash across humps, jam brakes, hard acceleration etc. Basically anyhow drive. Then fuel pump start to spoil, then alternator, then one side of lights cannot light up. Hahaha. Is it wear and tear or dashing hump causing all these. Kind of asking for it.

Will he list it on sgcarmart?

For me I would just cross over with a sane speed.

Suspension system is there for a reason.

Yes, they are not held together by paper clips. Some really go over hump as if their paper clip will tear apart.

Twincharged

I also did something similar to my old car when going to scrap it. Drove it over humps at 40-50km/h without slowing down to see what happens. Going to some deserted places to try out handbrake turns and alot of other experiments. Didn't manage to kill the car.

You all don't like that la.

If let's say it's a dying man, would you beat him up even you know he's dying?

Some humps are not car or driver friendly.

Especially those at checkpoints.

For those cars that are lowered. Yes. Dead slow. Even when my car was stock. The hump at bishan Junction 8 was quite front lip unfriendly.

If consistent driving pattern like uber or grab car driver going over humps, you can expect the usual high unexpected wear of engine / gearbox mount completely tear off.

Now a lot of such cars are already on sale. Those who buy such cars must be prepared to spend a lot on repairs. On the other hand, these cars might be tough to withstand all the abuses. No one can really understand unless he or she bought it

Even when I bought a 1.5 year old C class back then, the suspension started giving noise within a year.

After changing out under warranty, the new set lasted me all the way till I sold it at its 8th year.

Yes..I believe the previous owner whacked it jialat jialat..

This suspension is ok for humps.

Impressive suspension system . But Bose did not manage to commercialised the active suspension system, the design was sold to clear motion last year if i am correct.

Lets hope all could be nice to our car and be fair to the next buyer. A car should not be abused just because we are selling it off.

I washed my car before i handed it over to the dealer who supposed to export or renew coe of my car. When he took over my car, the service menu still shown "3xx days before next servicing", meaning newly serviced and have not clocked sufficient mileage to show the next servicing by kilometer. I serviced is 2 months before its coe was due and it was hardly hardly driven .
