At application to retain the vehicle registration number, the vehicle owner may choose to use a system generated number, a bid number, or another retained vehicle registration number registered in his/her name to replace the number on the existing vehicle (i.e. from which the vehicle registration number is to be retained):

 

(a) System generated number - No additional fee payable;

 

(b) Bid number - No additional fee payable;

 

© Another retained vehicle registration number where owner had paid $1,300 previously to retain the number - No additional fee payable; or

 

(d) Another retained vehicle registration number where owner had paid $100 previously to retain the number - An additional fee of $1,200 is payable.

Does it mean that if i buy a nice number and spend S $1300 to put on my current car, there is no additional charges the next time I retain this plate number for my next used car?

Nope, because when you retain the plate next time, you have to pay $1300 again.
