A2 means you loose your PARF accordingly too. Our gov needs to punish you for saving the earth and saving fuel in SG. Think carefully bro.

It largely depends whether the AD gives you the full 10k discount. If so, u r not losing 5k but gaining 5k. So not gov fault u see

Yup. And TC only reduced the price by a few K instead of the full 10K...

Must be hoping that nobody will count that...

1) True, but govt also one kind, give rebate upfront, but wanna take back at the end...

2) TC never gives the full $10K right? They will want to treat it as a (partial) windfall...

Not just TC. Most AD doesn't

A1 and A2 discounts are really bad news for customers. AD just laughing all the way to the bank

C1 and C2 AD also laugh all the way to the bank for they can add over 20k to the selling price and people still think its becos of C2.

Either way we are screwed.

isn't this similar to...

Heads i win, tails you lose??

For cases where the VES class is known upfront, the AD still can argue that they already "priced the VES in", in their original pricing.

But for this case, where cars were sold already, then when during registration, the car was re-classed, shouldn't the AD be decent enough to give the whole amount to the customer, since they are not making any amount less?

Oh, i forgot they are money making entity, must sieze all opportunity to makan customers...

In summery, the creation of CEVS is nothing more than the creation of YET ANOTHER money making ave for both MIW and dealers. How can that scheme encourage dealers and customers to buy 'greener' vehicles? The criteria itself is absurd to begin with. Hybrids can fall into B band if u are not careful, High tech and high powered engines tends to fall into C1 and C2 bands when old style and simple engines got B or even A1...

Welcome to SG

Dark metal gray

Two tone? And dark interior? That was my requested colour at first, then my wife made some noises and so we decided to go for White two tone and beige interior.

First, road tax was mistakenly told to be ~$500 annually when it should be ~$1200 annually. Then later got VES reclass. Hopefully TC would have revised the price down proportionally to make it attractive for buyers.

Or they could consider bringing in a higher-spec variant since there are so many features that are missing in the one they brought in.

TC strategy probably to target potential buyers of Voxy/Noah/etc.

Confirmed. And it's a good one, cos the triplets are becoming like Wish 15 years ago - despite from PIs, also many people buy...

In fact, one of the earlier internal marketing piece or product info/competitor's analysis highlighted running cost is much cheaper than the triplets, as TC had mistakenly tot road tax was a cheap $500 a year... so over 10 years, amount spent on triplets n serena will be about the same. And of course serena is by AD, so got advantage...

But since they discovered road tax boo boo, think they need new angle liao...

Self import, self bid coe. Best savings.

as with everything in this world, it’s a business. Not happy don’t buy. If it’s so lucrative, why not you invest too.

buy an attrage, it has the lowest margins of all cars in the Singapore market.

I think some of the posters are heading rather off-topic. We don't buy cars because of lowest margin. That's probably because we look at a host of factors which cumulatively means "value". And this value is highly subjective at times as exterior looks and supposed branding comes into play.
