@l0nEr good question regarding the trade in car of $33k and $8.888k CNY discount. I'm scratching my head if the price of $189,800 includes any gotchas that TC motors is planning to stab me in the back with? Especially if I have nothing to trade in with?

ATM, the CoE price is high so will just wait until sanity returns to the market.

The price also valid without trade in. In fact $184k can buy the model without the blind spot monitor / rear seat monitors. I’m looking at a hybrid MPV to eventually replace the current family MPV and Serena is an appealing option

@Fitmugen yeah i thought so too.. the OverTrade looks fake...
So 184k can get the basic 'premium model'?

noticed they just published the latest pricelist. there was no change to price even though the CNY 8888 was removed.... all these discounts are so gimicky, they should just scrap it and be real. buyers also arent stupid enough not to check sgcarmart

Spec details of the Nissan ePower X-Trial from SG Car Mart.

LTA's road tax calculator based on the above information.

So annual road tax for the hybrid ride is much lower than for a BEV.

I don’t think that is how road tax is calculated for Epower xtrail, TC sales did confirm it is 2k+, almost double my current 2.0 car. road tax aside, this is the best option to feel EV brisk pickup without any range anxiety.

The only concern I have is how it performs on continuous and high speed highway drive (like 130 km/h) all the way from sg to Penang, will the engine able to cope?  any epower owner care to share your experience?

@Xtrailer Can check with TC if LTA's numbers are wrong. Else, you could be paying TC a fat margin.

@Xtrailer PI Venture Cars has some details of the X-Trail e-Power here: https://venturecars.com.sg/product/nissan-x-trail-e-power/

X-Trail numbers for engine capacity and combined power output are the same as that shown in SG Car Mart. Can also download the brochure for the X-Trail to check the numbers if you want.

Do check with TC sales that you're not being taken for a ride on the road tax.

I did check, it is around 2600, LTA calculates based on power rating (PR) for dual motor electric car, it simply add power from both electric motor, not using combined output from manufacturer.

@Xtrailer Maybe I missed something here, but the road tax increases with higher power rating. I.e. the smaller the combined power the lower the road tax and the higher the combined power the higher the road tax. To pay $2.6k in road tax, the combined power has to be around 245kW - see LTA's website calculation to confirm this.

Nissan's e-Power works as a series hybrid. The petrol engine acts a generator to charge the tiny battery which then power the electric motor. This is the same setup for the Serena e-Power.

It doesn't act as a parallel hybrid where the petrol engine assists the electric motor to give more power output - like Toyota or Honda. Hence the maximum power available is the combined power output of 157kW. It's not technical possible to exceed this number due to the series hybrid setup by Nissan.

So how is it possible that the X-Trial is reaching 245kW?
